Just been chatting to a Hull ST holder; hadn't heard this before, but the scheme they've introduced for their fans wanting away tickets is that only ST holders can apply, they have to register on the scheme and the deal is all or nothing. So if they register they agree to buy a ticket for ALL away games, and the cost of such get debited from credit cards. I guess they'll get away with that for one season thanks to the demand that the novelty brings, but if they survive could they keep that going?

Call me a cynic but I just don't believe it. Can't see there being the demand there for all games. Besides which I find it difficult to believe there's that many fans from Hull that could afford it

Wigan sold it out for their first season up but, though the scheme continues, numbers have predictably dwindled.

 

I imagine Hull would encounter a similar scenario if they stay up.

I think that Chelsea do something similar as well. You're pretty much guaranteed an away ticket, but you have to have all of them, presumably if there is a very small allocation (such as if they played a conference side away in the cup) then those people would go into some sort of lottery for tickets

A friend of mine has an away season ticket for Arsenal. He reckons there's not many people have one of these.

i think the scheme is that if you sign up at start of year to this option you are first in line for a ticket are virtually gauranteed one for every game.

 

surplus tickets then go on sale in normal way....season tiickets holders....then the rest.

 

so basically someone at start of season who commits to going every away game is sorted.

aye but I guess it depends how many sign up - and as the link I posted suggests, they've sold out. now if that means just 1000 then yes, others will have a good chance. If its 3000 then that's pretty much it.

I realise we're one of the least attractive London sides to visit but feel if that happened it must have been repeated elsewhere. Particularly for midweek fixtures around the country.

Very true. We took 8k up there one year and it still wasn't a sell out.

They'll increase the figure 10-fold.

With Hull KR being back in the Super League and the ever increasing football prices IMO i can't see them bringing as many as people think,i could be wrong,though im not often!

Exeter brought 47 for a league game in 90/91,Swansea brought 47 for a league game in 91/92.

Both were midweek matches.

 

There is likely to be lower than that.

 

I once went to a night match years back at Rochdale when they played Exeter. I stood in the away end with my mate and we doubled (I sh?t you not) the away following that night.
