The Bluebell at the Bury end of Bury/Bolton Road is now a bed shop downstairs and a brass den upstairs!

come to think of it, i wonder if any of them beds for sale are, err, used?

The Squirrel became an Indian, then shut, then burnt down recently.

I think it could be a nice place if someone spent a bit of time/money on it. Loads of outside space for the hot summer months ( ) Plus it's the nearest pub to me.

Anybody fancy purchasing it and doing it up?

would love too, i remember going there as a kid, my dad and his mate used to go and me and my dads mate's lass used to run around in the grass and play on the equipment, oh dear, i think ive just found the root cause of my outdoors fetish! cracking location though!!! needs to be developed and shared by all!!!

It is a shame that, I used to love spending a summer afternoon there.

Victory Conservative club - Chorley Old Rd - Pound shop

Labour club - St Georges Rd - Sally Army

I'll stump em. What's the Eagle & Vulcan on Folds Road these days then?
Cafe cum drug den?

Old Orleans - now NEXT, a place where women-folk buy their clothes, I'm led to believe.

Cafe cum drug den?

Vulcan is the PC World car park isn't it?

Is the Mop still standing ?

The Three Pigeons in Astley Bridge used to be a pub.

Now a place where hand-to-hand combat is compulsory.

Dr Who's tardis used to be a boozer; always looked bigger on the outside than on the in, until he bought it and turned things round.

So question - what strange combination of historical fact or fiction would you be happy to share a pint with toneet?

I reckon having a pint or ten with th'Incredible Hulk, Jesus and Boudicea (with the painters in). Bound to kick off.
