His time is up, had more than a fair crack of the whip, turgid boring, bad team formation, too slow making subs to change the game, has not got a clue or even worse does not care what the fans want, completely at odds with everything BWFC used to stand for, contrary to his view of BWFC we are not a team or club who will put up with his tactics which mirror the last 18 months of FSA reign, in short a bad appointment that needs terminating immiediately.

Most agree that just changing the manager for the sake of it is pure folly. BSA's prolonged reign showed that stability is a key asset (just look at the joke that is Newcastle United!). The problem in this case is, however, that Gary Megson never has been, isn't, and never will be a Premier League manager.

Expect 0-0's, 1-0's and 0-1's as long as we have him. He may keep us up again this year but by the skin of our teeth. Sooner or later he will take us down to his natural environment - the Championship. I have no doubts.

Waht Blackburn did on Saturday was exactly what we've been doing for 5 years - going away from home and spoiling the opposition. It worked for us against better teams than us, it worked for Blackburn against us. We played some decent stuff second half and had Taylor/O'Brien taken chances we'd be laughing. Shit weather, shit match, shit opposition with a good game plan.

 

It's 4 points from the last possible 6. Should've been 6, but it's better than 0 from the previous 6.

 

Again, Megson has got until the end of November for me. I see signs of improvement, but it is results that matter. I like some of the football we play when we try - but i don't think it helps when we do try and the fans moan and boo a misplaced pass and the player who did it -- it's shite like that that makes the players resort to what they know best.

People are starting to give him XYZ number of games.

But in reality, I don't think his position at the club is even in question.

I really think that come what may, our board will stick by him.

that sums it up exactly, the man is either over cautious or has no bottle, I keep saying it, but stoke and hull are not great teams but there giving it a right go, while we stick with this negative over cautious approach, stoke will surely go down, but Hull are virtually guaranteed safety and they play 2 up top with giovanni behind even against arsenal away, that is brave, exciting management, something we need at Bolton.

IMO Blackburn tried to play some football and looked to have more quality. What was very disappointing was they had just lost Reid and Cruz, their two best players and where there for the taking in front of a bumper home crowd. However its down to the home side to take the initative in games like this but with one up front the emphasis was on protecting ther one point we had.

 

I dont have a season ticket and shelled out for me plus four of my family. All of them dont want to go again in the near future. The performance was boring to watch. We have no one left in our squad who can change a game with a little bit of quality.

We arent a good team, the sooner some people realise that, the better off we will be.

 

Megson has been with us 12 months or so and I havent seen enough from him to see how he is the right man for the club.

 

He's a nice enough fella, nothing against him personally, but I dont think he has what it takes.

 

Two wins this season - One against a team who provided one of the worst performances I have seen at the Reebok for years. Our other win was in a big way down to two goal-keeping errors!

 

Spurs were very poor yesterday but I cant see us beating them next week.

Bristol, I generally agree with most of that. I have not slagged the manager in my post and said that whilst he's here, we have to back him.

 

The only thing I find slightly questionable about your post is the 'one creative midfielder away from being a top half' comment. I agree that, playing staff wise, you are probably right. Where I have a problem is that I don't believe Gary Megsons mindset would ever be right for a top half finish. Siege mentality thinking resulting in cautious negative tactics and a belief that we must avoid relegation rather than 'how high could we finish'.

 

Hand on heart, can you ever see anything but a relegation struggle under him? Can you see a time when we might have the ecstacy of a nondescript mid table obscurity finish under him?

Everyone has an opinion. Mine was that after looking forward to my first league game of the season, I was totally dissapointed with our performance. I have now to consider if I pay to watch them against Everton, Paul Merson doesn't. With Saturdays game still fresh in my mind, I wont be bothering!

Again, we win at West Ham and it's cos of the players efforts... we don't win and that's because of the manager. We beat Madrid because of the players, we stayed up because of the players... but it's Megson's fault we didn't beat Blackburn or West Brom. Is it Megson's fault Taylor and O'Brien missed good chances?

 

I've said from the start, I don't think Megson is the man long term, but for the short term job we needed/need, he's as good as anything else available to us. I'd like to see a young manager with BWFC connections (Coyle, Sheridan or ideally Brown), but for that to happen we need a solid foundation - and I think Megson is the man to provide that.

given they had injuries and we had an away win under out belt, I expected us to gain some momentum going into this run of winnable fixtures

 

but then we play 4-5-1 with a stiffling midfield three

 

and it showed

the only attempt we had on goal was a good move granted, but we didn't work robinson once

 

except for a free kick that missed the players in the box and he had to palm away, it wasn't a shot

FFS blackburn came and made no attempt to win the match look at how happy their fans were at the end of the game, our 'supporters' booed and grumbled their way out of the stadium.

 

it was a poor match and neither team would've scored if we kept playing til next july.

 

If we're still shit after the city game then i'll be getting upset but saturday was only the 2nd 90mins where we've had our 1st choice 11 available

but it was the 2nd turd 0-0 we've had at home where we've had all the possession yet the opposition have had the best chances to win it
