Ginger Mourinhio

His time is up, had more than a fair crack of the whip, turgid boring, bad team formation, too slow making subs to change the game, has not got a clue or even worse does not care what the fans want, completely at odds with everything BWFC used to stand for, contrary to his view of BWFC we are not a team or club who will put up with his tactics which mirror the last 18 months of FSA reign, in short a bad appointment that needs terminating immiediately.

can i just ask all thjose who want entertainment why they went when we were really shit?

as Zozzy stated elsewhere, most of us get more entertainment from a boring, scrappy 1-0 win and three points than a fast-flowing, skillful show of sporting excellence that results in a 4 - 3 defeat.

And we're getting neither ....

gardner would've played but didn't arrive back til friday

So why was he brought on instead of the fresher Riga ?

cos half fit hes better than riga

I have stated my stance on this issue before but for what its worth, I'll give my opinion on yesterday.

I think the club are doing everything they can to bring in the fans by reducing prices, creating a fanzone the flags etc. etc. I applaud the club for their efforts.

Due to work & business comitments, yesterday was my first league match of the season although I have seen them on tv whenever they are on.

I was really looking forward to the match and the anticipation of a good 'derby' atmosphere.

I dont believe that you can manufacture atmosphere and yesterday was a perfect example. The only time that the crowd really got behind the team was during that 20 min period in the second half when we had our best period of the match. The rest was poor, very poor!

Blackburn at least tried to play football and I think their fans would be much happier with their performance.

No matter what the club do to encourage the missing fans, what really matters is the performance of the team on the pitch.

As I dont have a season ticket, nothing that I saw yesterday has encouraged me to go to the Everton match.

Blackburn tried to play football? Jesus. Who told you that, Paul Ince?

If that's what passes for playing football these days, i'm glad we don't bother. They turned up for a draw against a side who's been shite for the last two years.

As it happens, i'm only entertained if we win. If a corner had gone if off Oojers arse in the last minute i'd have come home extremely entertained.

There is no entertainment on offer for supporters of any team with Megson at the helm. Its that simple.

11 men with little ability, working very hard, to protect what they have at the start - a point.

Each game will be the same under Megson and if you expect any more then think again. He does exactly what it says on the tin.

On another point If i am not mistaken, then all of Megsons signings were available yesterday, and thats the best we could muster.

Thats another excuse gone for the people who want him as our Manager. How people can protect his brand of "football" amazes me.

Save your money and take the kids out for the day. It costs less and wont be as predictable.

"They had double figures in corners, put the ball in good positions and missed a couple of good chances.

"To be fair to Gary Megson he took off Fabrice Muamba the defensive midfielder and put on Ricardo Gardner and went for it.

"They had a passage of play of about 20 passes, which landed at Matt Taylor on the right. He cut inside and bent it around the keeper and hit the outside of the post.

"If that had gone in and it had been Manchester United scoring it then people would have been going mad about it.

I thought Blackburn were there for the taking yesterday and to play with 2 defensive midfielders at home against a team of their calibre was a bit cowardly for me. I would play Taylor as one of the 3 in the middle at the expense of McCann or Muamba.

Elmander will not get 6 goals all season if we put that team every home game.

cos half fit hes better than riga

Well, you & Megson think so.

In that case, get Riga off the wage bill .... he can't be worth keeping.

And another thing .......

?Asked why, as manager of the home side, he did not feel obliged to field a second striker, Gary Megson said his team had

?played with 2 up front for the last 35 minutes and in the first half we were playing with three up front?.

Cue puzzled looks from the entire press pack, who appeared to have missed this.?

[ Observer Sport today ].

I?m sure Megson doesn?t mean that we started with 3 attackers and then went to 2 attackers for the last 35 minutes when we were 0-0 at home to beatable opposition ...... but what does he mean ?

In any case, playing with Elmander, Davies & Taylor doesn?t necessarily mean playing ?with three up front? if two of them are more involved in midfield & covering the full-backs.

IMHO

=D> =D> =D>

absolutely

That was utter crap.

IF one-nil wins were coming playing like that then fine- but they're not.

The players seem to play within themselves, with fear.

Jackburn too were awful.

Merson was right; went to 4-4-2 and played a wonderful bit of football.

After Arsenal Megson said Riga was ready and may have change to a 4-4-2. Great!

He's not fookin played since.

Still, given the ginger one's meteoric rise from the dole, maybe he'll get the Tottenham job- should be available soon!

Lets change our manager again? What a good idea :good: Its working for Spurs and Newcastle  .Yesterday was shit but it takes two teams to make an entertaining game and Blackburn just simply werent interested in anything apart from making it a shitty game.

Tottenham will beat us next week so Ramos will be safe in his job for the next week or so..

We'll beat Spurs next week and we will stay up this season. Some of the football played in Allardyce's last season was worse to watch than this season's, there were only four or five decent games that season.

Changing manager for changing sake ala spurs and toon aint a good idea, but let us look at the sacking of Mclaren and the replacement of cappello, the Englands team performance has gone up 100% with the same squad of players, looking back on Bolton's history we replaced Phil neal with Rioch and things turned round very quickly, and to say Blackburn were not interested in anything from a shitty game is not really true they had the best 2 chances of the game and when they had possesion attempted to try and play, and that was without there star player in Roque cruz and with 2 centre forwards who are championship quality, I don't think our players are that bad, I think it is all down to the manager he lacks everything needed to be a premiership manager, when he does get the sack he will be better off getting a job as a lollipop man because NO ONE will be the slightest bit interested in employing him as a football manager.

to be fair, he isn't bad at finding decent players

How many players has he signed?

They need to give him at least until 10 games into next season imo otherwise we will be changing managers too easily without giving him enough time. The problem we have is who to replace him with, with the England situation mentioned above was a lot different because they had a good list to choose from and eneded up getting a good manager to replace a shit one.

Not gonna comment on changing manager. For me when we appointed Megson it was a very very bad decision. I worry we will make an even worse one next time!

I was a little undecided as to whether to renew my season ticket again this year but as 'Red' says in The Shawshank Redemption... "I'm an institutional man now"

I think the game versus Blackburn was Awful!

I also think the manager should apologise to fans after a game like that and promise more excitement from the next home game.

I think the fans have done really well the last few weeks but apart from a few decent moments and a result at West Ham, the last few games have been woeful relegation form.

Anyone who is not concerned at the job Gary Megson is not thinking clearly and possibly being a bit too optimistic.

Onwards and hopefully upwards... but I have my doubts.

Come on you Whites!

Lets change our manager again? What a good idea :good: Its working for Spurs and Newcastle  .Yesterday was shit but it takes two teams to make an entertaining game and Blackburn just simply werent interested in anything apart from making it a shitty game.

Most agree that just changing the manager for the sake of it is pure folly. BSA's prolonged reign showed that stability is a key asset (just look at the joke that is Newcastle United!). The problem in this case is, however, that Gary Megson never has been, isn't, and never will be a Premier League manager.

Expect 0-0's, 1-0's and 0-1's as long as we have him. He may keep us up again this year but by the skin of our teeth. Sooner or later he will take us down to his natural environment - the Championship. I have no doubts.

A particularly uninspiring and unambitious appointment.

I do not, however, believe this had much bearing on Saturdays game. It was always going to be a slugfest.

i think its only the people of this board who like him as everyone i speak to See's him for what he is a crap manger at best.

some say he did a good job keeping us up last season i personally think the players pulled together and got those few much needed wins at the end of last season. remember that squad had finished in the top 8 for 4 seasons, they hadn't just been promoted and he spent over 10 mil.

his signing seem good but after spending 20 mil we cant even create 3 good chances a match and dont have any cover at the back. i like cahill and Taylor but weren't they both proven prem players that were transfer listed.

the win against stoke came from a lucky goal then there heads went down for 20mins when we score the other 2

the win at west ham came from there keeper we didn't even look like scoring before he gifted that goal to super Kev

Chopin and changing is not the best idea but if you look at why Newcastle do it is because they realize they have made the wrong choice of manger.

why did he put job at right back when hunt is on the bench? what is the point of hunt being on the bench?

super Kev is not and never will be a right winger maybe in a rugby team but not in our team

under big Sam it was shite to watch but challenging for Europe smoothed it over but at the moment its like were aiming for 17th

oh and for those who say who else could we have got or he was the best around get a grip ffs we are a prem football team not some little shit ground no fans non league team.

I am not a fan of his management, but Megson is here now and the only way forward for the club is to back him and stick with him. We are an unfashionable northern club who most of the press want out of the Prem, and so we are not going to get a lot of quality managers knocking on the door if we were to get rid of Megson.

Megson did nothing wrong yesterday, unlike previous games IMO - he picked the right team and made logical substitutions.

It was a tight game and we need to face up to the fact we are no better than Blackburn, the draw was a fair result.

The team is better than last season, we are only a creative midfielder away from being a top half team.

It's going to be interesting in terms of relegation this season - the way I see it, no one is safe apart from the top 4, plus Villa and Man City.

Bristol, I generally agree with most of that. I have not slagged the manager in my post and said that whilst he's here, we have to back him.

The only thing I find slightly questionable about your post is the 'one creative midfielder away from being a top half' comment. I agree that, playing staff wise, you are probably right. Where I have a problem is that I don't believe Gary Megsons mindset would ever be right for a top half finish. Siege mentality thinking resulting in cautious negative tactics and a belief that we must avoid relegation rather than 'how high could we finish'.

Hand on heart, can you ever see anything but a relegation struggle under him? Can you see a time when we might have the ecstacy of a nondescript mid table obscurity finish under him?

I can't.
