Man hit by train in Farnworth

12:40pm Sunday 11th January 2009

A MAN has died after being hit by a train in Farnworth.

The incident happened at around 10.30am this morning.

He was hit by the 9.49am Preston to Manchester Victoria service.

The line was closed for about an hour between Bolton and Salford Crescent but train services have now resumed.

I always feel sorry for the driver me :pardon:

I wonder if they get paid piecework.

What's wrong with a bottle of tamazys and a 12 year old malt?

Nice one do they get more for a leg than a arm. :yahoo:

I would say no, surely you should get more money for small bits like teeth and toes.

THERES ONE HEAR WITH NO HEAD

I wonder how long he was waiting?

Very sad if it was suicide, horrible if life gets so bad.

aye, but do it in the comfort of your own home. Paramedics and coppers are used to finding bodies. But other people aren't eg a bit back some lass jumped in front of a train at the station here and got wiped out in front of two platforms full of people. Bet it were a while before those poor sods got a decent nights kip again

Watched a programme on the telly a while back about folk jumping in front of express trains on railway platforms, they say the body literally explodes, and drivers are so traumatised that it ususally means about six month on the sick.

Inconsiderate if you ask me. Like someone has said, if you're going to do it, do it from inside your own home.

Hopefully trains are all running fine tomorrow a.m

f?kin hell James, you're usually having a go. Why suddenly an ally? But cheers anyway.

As anyone noticed that TonyCee hasn't posted for a couple of days. We lost with a whimper on Saturday. Not natural for him not to be on here predicting Domesday.

You don't think.......................................
