This would be unfair on countries were they usually have more severe weather that we do. Who decides on where the weather has to be bad or not? What if it was awful weather in Wales and Cardiff or Swansea wanted to sign a player but it was fine and dandy over in England? Will they be allowed to sign a player after the deadline in that case? There are though, several paper-work requirements that can be completed after the deadline - like International Clearance, UK Working Visa etc. So Asharvin's transfer could well fall into one of these reasons.

I don't think that Arshavin had agreed to repay his loyalty bonus before 17.00 so it wasn't a done deal by then. Still, Arsene Wenger thought it was and who are the FA to argue with him? February 3, 200917 yr I don't care either way if it was before or after the agreed time, he's a good player, and we don't have to play them again this season, so he might help them win a few games against some of our relegation rivals. Are we really that bothered about it?

Based on his performances in the Euros last year he certainly did look world class, whether he can produce this on a constant basis in the premiership is another question.
