Were You Gutted....

When we beat Spurs? Some of you fcukers couldn't wait for us to lose a game, and probably warmed a little when Bent made it 2-2, just to get back on the wagon.

We are the same size or smaller than most top end championship teams and like it or not just staying up is success for us. That isn't a lack of ambition - it's called realism. We've had a couple of great years but in retrospect, given the current climate, UEFA cup was the worst thing to ever happen to BWFC - it's now the millstone round the neck of every future XI wearing the shirt. We punched above our weight, we still are.

It was wonderful, and hopefully one day we'll have another crack. But expecting it and hoping for it are 2 vastly different things.

Getting shut of Megson now would be the worst possible thing to do and the instability probably would send us down.

End of rant.

rubbish

my opinion is that megson is trying to build a CLUB for the future whereas sam built a TEAM for the present.

sams team was full of players who he gambled on, many worked, many didnt. but majority were cheap (to buy at least)

megson is obviousy aiming for younger english players for the long term, and gartside is backing him with money.

problem is this will take time and i for one, am willing to give him that time.

my only problem is that sam was a far better manager results-wise, with a 'limited' quality of player than megson will ever be.

sam got the best out of a player, megson can only acheive as much from the player as the player himself is willing to give. (if that makes sense)

as long as megson improves the squad everytime a transfer window comes around i honestly believe we are on a slow upward spiral rather than a downward one.

What in God's name are you on about?

We got pasted, thoroughly pasted, did you expect everyone to be singing his praises?

All this guff about how big a club we are is beside the point, and the 'you lot couldn't wait for us to lose' bit is just nonsense

I've barely seen anyone say he should be sacked

I think you are becoming a little bit obsessed

I would agree with that, but dont forget we also had a policy in our first few Prem seasons of only having the majority of the first team squad on 1 year deals.

Shite, I can feel a nosebleed coming so I'm going back to the daft bit.

We were shit yesterday BUT after winning against Spurs and drawing away at Blackburn things arent that bad.

In Two weeks if we get beat by West Ham at home then start to worry a bit.

Keep the faith people.

Tyler,

keep your head son. BWFC will always be be BWFC. Good,bad,shite,wank...its ours.

I wouldn't put all the pressure on the West Ham game - they didn't look bad today against ManU until they got to the ManU penalty area.

If we're seriously adrift of 37 points after the next 6 games, that will be the time to worry.

Bingo bango

We were shite. That doesn't mean we sack everyone. My point being, the Spurs game and 1st 45 at Blackburn were top, good stuff played and top effort. But we lose one bad game and its back to the same old bollocks. Gets one down.

All we ask as fans who have been through the bad times over the last 20/30 odd years is that the players who go out onto that pitch wearing a white shirt are prepared to sweat blood for the cause, when we see performances like that on saturday we have a right to get pissed off.

95% of us live in the real world and accept we're only in the prem to make up the numbers and all we're asking for is a performance to be proud of not a performance to be embarassed over. The players should hang their heads in shame.

Good on Megson for speaking the truth about Saturday and not try and bullshit his way out of it

I said last week that Megson is building a team for the long term - we just need to survive the short term to get to it!

The problem with the long term philosophy over the short term is that if it does come off with young english talent we will see half or one season of relative success before these players are sold or want to join more fashionable clubs on bigger salaries.

Probably true, but hopefully makes some money doing so.

Bwfc key aim is to exist

Sad but true

I wouldn't call it sad, as long as there's a club for me to support I'll be happy.

Superb statement bout the players but dont 100% agree about megson. I left on about 80 mins and went to the wilmslow pub which is facing were the players went in at goodison, anyway some hour later when i seen the players getting on the coach i decided i would wander over to have my say. Due to the amount of stewards and police i decided not to swear but ask where they as a team proud of what they had just served up but couldnt be arsed in the end because apart from jussi no one else seemed arsed they had just lost and not even had a go. I have never been bothered about getting beat if you have a go but on saturday i cant remeber been so embarresed to support BW after 33 years. I asked megson and other hangers on if they thought i had been served value for my ?32 but most looked at me and must have thought go away knob head you and your opinions count for fcuk all.

well pi$$ed off i was but will be there again in a fortnight

An upset but now getting over it

I forgot were the only team never to give it their all in a single game.

for f?cks sake, one thing Megsons team has, is they try more than anyone else

Having Megson as manager is like being in a dull relationship.

Some things are Ok, some are shite, but nothing to bad that you can justify finishing it.

You heart hopes it may improve but your head tells you are just treading water until the inevitable happens and you split up!!

I bet David O'Leary was the greatest Leeds manager to run the club when he had pots of cash to spend on who he wanted; long term contracts; mega-bucks earners. I'm just watching them on Sky Sports. Elland Road doesn't half look empty!

As it is, I'm happy for MY club to be managed by a slightly more 'mundane' manager and run by a Chairman who won't allow things to get out of hand. As soon as he lets too much go in the form of long contracts then we, too, are a doomed club.

not being funny mate, but what did you expect? an in-depth exclusive? a scoop? probably all had a bollocking, and the last thing they wanted was some pisshead (going off my own state at that time of the day) was asking how they felt, and whether their preformance was worthy of what they earn in 15 mins? i am now listening to slide away, and they were probably wishing to do the same

fwiw, i think, given a little time, we may have some solid foundations being laid here. dont know, dont care, all i want is for you to take me there
