Kev For England?

SKD being touted as a possible for the next England squad.

Capello always picks the form players - SKD currently top English Prem striker so...

Debut hat trick I think, no question.

I saw one interview when Capello said more or less the above... Owen needs to play more. He didn't mention Davies

It is a bit of a farce that he likes his big strikers but won't pick the best one

I'd rather have Davies than Crouch, Cole, or Heskey. He's far more intelligent and effective than any of those players. He is arguably a better goalscorer than any of them too. He is certainly better in the air and better as a target man.

I don't know what people see in Crouch. is a terrible header of the ball given his height and his first touch normally puts the ball at least a couple of yards away.

1-0 up and holding on for a win against Germany in a quarter final, I'd put KD on. He's the best one up striker we have. To say that he can't do it against continental opposition, remember his performance against Bayern?

World Cup qualifier :

Rooney and Kev Davies up front, Wright-Philips on the right, Barry* supplying from the left :good:

*or Matty Taylor B)

What you mean over Andy Walker, John McGinlay, Tony Philliskirk and I'm assuming you saw John Byrom.

oh, maybe not philliskirk

saw byrom play a couple of seasons as a young un, so can't really judge him

Lets break the ice here.

Capello looks like a nonce to me.

he looks like Postman Pat to me.

This amused me a little: Capello aka Don Music!

What has the manager of Reading got to do with this.

I dont think I could trust a man who dyes his hair.

Wise words. That bloke with the ginger kids, he looked better before them brats made him maul with it.

Can you add this to your manifesto somewhere?

I think this week has become very clear that Davies doesn't stand a hope-in-hell of getting an England callup.

Defoe, Heskey, Cole, Owen all out for various reasons. Crouch doubtful.

5 strikers there all above Davies in the pecking order (be it rightly or not) with two of them being the target man type of role but still Capello overlooks SKD.

Being named in the 'long' squad of 28 / 32 is a waste of time.

I just hope, Davies doesn't react to this England 'rejection' in the same manner as Big Sam did!

Seems to me and correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that after this afternoon's news that Gabriel Agbonlahor has been called up Capello's attitude is anyone but Davies. Been said before but what was the point of the 28 man squad - serious question rather than rhetorical.

I think we all misunderstoood Capello.

Is was a 28 man striker list.

Very good, Garrp: I like it.

I reckon Dean Ashton's higher up that list than Davies.
