April 28, 200917 yr only one gets slated and the other gets praised to high heaven pissed me off listening to how good and disciplined Chelsea were tonight when all we and the rest of the bottom half of the prem get hammered for it every week
April 28, 200917 yr M'ON did it on Saturday aswell. If only someone would point out to them that if you stand someone on the half way line, said man will win the ball, counter-attack and score at least once a game.

April 28, 200917 yr only one gets slated and the other gets praised to high heaven pissed me off listening to how good and disciplined Chelsea were tonight when all we and the rest of the bottom half of the prem get hammered for it every week to be fair, it's mainly by their own fans...
April 29, 200917 yr if you stand someone on the half way line, said man will win the ball, counter-attack and score at least once a game. That sounds like a "tip" from a Championship Manager website
April 29, 200917 yr I might be wrong, but I think Tom was taking the piss. Everyone knows that said man on halfway-line will actually just overhead kick it straight into the goal. No counter-attack needed. I know, 'cos I dun it on FIFA.
April 29, 200917 yr Both went to a better team with 1 man upfront and played not-to-lose too. Mugs I think the issue is that we tend to play that way no matter who we are playing, Im all for us playing defensive and playing not to lose against bigger teams, but not when we play the likes of West Brom at home etc etc

April 29, 200917 yr must both be tactically naive everybody back at corners and free kicks indeed is the differnce that chelsea got a draw we tend to get beat? Gus's tactics are justified by the result.
April 29, 200917 yr is that not because chelsea are better than us? if we did that a barca, we'd lose 3-0 if we attacked barca we'd lose 6-0 tis all relative.
April 29, 200917 yr are you sure about that? yes I am pretty sure, im sure a lot of the fans feel the same, Having said that, we all know what happened when Little Sam tried getting us to play nice attacking football, so I dont know what to think or believe.

April 29, 200917 yr So Megson is a tactical genius because he gets every single player back for corners Sorry I'm not having that He's just very defensive
April 29, 200917 yr Author stop reading something that isn't there nobody said it makes him a genius folk (who haven't realised fifa aint real) call him inept cos he brings everybody back
April 29, 200917 yr Having everyone back at Barcelona away is very different than when you're playing Wigan at home.
April 29, 200917 yr Author no its not its still about not conceding and while barca are way better than wiggin, chelsea are way better than us
April 29, 200917 yr Having everyone back at Barcelona away is very different than when you're playing Wigan at home. Gotta say I dont like this 10 men back whichever team does it. You need an outlet just so the defence can move out otherwise the ball keeps getting put back in with a very deep back line playing forwards onside. We must have one player who doesnt contribute much in the way of clearing corners who we can leave upfield? When young Mark Davies was playing I used to watch him stood on the edge of the box, marking nobody, unlikely to be much help. Why not leave him or Cohen near the halfway line?
April 29, 200917 yr We've also, so I've heard, conceded the least goals from corners this year in the League this year. Also, who do you propose we leave up. Elmander and Davies are good when defending crosses. Taylor hasn't got the pace to do it effectively and is gonna find it hard to play a killer ball with everyone behind him. So it's basically Gardner, who is being employed as the 'post-man'. Also, very few don't, I can only remember top 4 and Tottenham doing so at the Reebok, and that was with Aaron Lennon.

Citeh left SWP, Robinho and one more midget (i think it was Vassel) up field every corner
April 29, 200917 yr Citeh left SWP, Robinho and one more midget (i think it was Vassel) up field every cornerYou are probably right there.I remember little but the fact we dicked them 2-0 of that day
April 29, 200917 yr Citeh left SWP, Robinho and one more midget (i think it was Vassel) up field every corner That probably explains why city are dogshit away from home. I dont believe that having a man back or up on corners is that much of an issue, i certainly dont think it has cost us any goals having all the team back. The retards seem to bang on about little things like this just to add to the reasons to hate Megson list. Some prick who sits a few rows back from me shouts it every corner we concede "Leave a man up Megson you thick tvvat"

must both be tactically naive
everybody back at corners and free kicks indeed
