By the looks of them we could do with both Emana and Ameida.

Can we afford them both?

Can we afford not to buy both of them?

And on that cliffhanger note ........ join us on Tuesday for the next final episode of 'Transfer Window IV' !

One day, I'll look on here and there will actually be a transfer update; like, we'll have signed someone

After finally securing both Carlos Tevez & Joleon Lescott, Man City are turning their attention to Simon Weston.

And John Merrick

To be fair to Megson, he did warn that some deals might have to be left till late in the transfer window when cheaper deals could be struck. Anyway it's ED who holds the purse strings. Trouble is, if the club don't improve the squad's attacking potential with last-minute deals, we're in real trouble, as most on here have said.

None of that changes my mind about negative tactics, team selection, substitutions & PR though.

Apparantley Megson is after Janko, Almeida, Emana and an unamed Bulgarian striker. He is trying to sign at least one of these so heres hoping.

Sounds promising...here's hoping he's armed with more than a loan deal and the promise of a rental house off Chorley New Road.

Why are the users of this site so optimistic and live in hope

U need to get real - Gary has wasted what little money was available and totally missed out on strengthening the areas of real weekness in the team

This season is going to be very tough - more boring than last year and we could finally get relegated. There could be hope though if they change the manager

Optimistic? Oh aye the last few weeks have been very positive on here?? Its seems we are flooded with doom merchants.

Well, looking at today's news and online sites, all but the unnamed Bulgarian have said no.

Bottom line - we ain't got bottomless pockets, they all want big bucks. You'd hope we could meet in the middle before Monday or Tuesday, but the fact is, most of these clubs don't need to sell and don't need to compromise. Or indeed, need to loan players out.

Sad thing is, I reckon Megson is doing everything he cam to bring in players on a limited budget, but he'll get it in the neck if nothing has happened by next week. We're a small club in heavy debt, throwing that money at new players that don't fit just might increase that debt and doesn't guarantee that we'll stay up (?8 million on Elmander shows that big money doesn't equal success).

Suspect its a bit more pressured and high risk than a game of Championship Manager.

I predict the following statement will be heard from Gary Megson:

"Having Vaz Te back from injury is like signing a new striker"

I would have thought Betis getting relegated would force their hand with Emana clearly not , Was hoping the reason we didnt appear to enter the Tunkay race was because we had tied up the deal for this lad

If you aren't sure, what makes you think that being a highly paid football manager might not be more pressurised than playing a computer game?

Could you please tell me what, as a fan, I could do but be optimistic and hopefull!

As a fan I do not pick the manager, I do not pick the team and I do not choose the tactics.

I will be going on Saturday and guess what, I will be optimistic and hopeful just as I have done for 40 years!

How you can say he has 'wasted' the money he has spent after 2 league matches is beyond me!

Ooohhhh...I don't know, why don't you have a guess? Maybe something to do with the real world?

Because some of us have seen us concede 4 at Scarborough in the bottom tier. If you look at the big picture, these are the bloody good times. Compare playing Liverpool at home 2 games in with a relegation playoff with Aldershot. Different world.

Anyway, back on track, have we signed Veloso yet? ;)

Wot he just sed!

Without Hope, we are nothing.

The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible and achieves the impossible

We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all.

Read a bit of Martin Luther King Jnr & hope might spring eternal, boys & girls! :good:

Or alternatively, someone might kill you.

And you'll live on forever in folk's hearts minds & have a legacy. It's not like he didn't get a few good years on this planet. Better to have filled it & done something than been a miserable cunt, living in a shack eating rice & peas, whining about Whities & doing nowt about it. :D

'Wasted' as in most people's opinion we need a striker and an attacking midfielder and he has bought 2 full backs, a centre half and midfielder (don't think Davis can be classed as attacking).

After 2 games it is impossible to say if the players he has bought are an improvement or not - give them a bit longer and then judge them (apart from Robinson who looks total shite) :D :D

I am still hoping that we will get another couple of bodies in though :)
