i like a bourbon myself but JD is a bit clichd - there are plenty of much finer offerings on the market - especially Wild Turkey! tremendous neat over ice or maybe a splash of ginger beer.

 

also like a Tanqueray!

 

seem to have gone right off beer at the moment, in the house anyway - but my favourite is the Hoegaarden!

A non mouse's homemade bourbon, six standard drinks and your legs turn to rubber and you start talking in braille. Smooth taste as well.

As whisky goes Crown Royal is my favourite but it nigh on impossible to get here.

Try it with vodka and coke in it as well (think it's called an irish black russian). Likewise a bit girly but tastes phenominal)

Got to be like Bacardi 151 then. Strictly speaking you are not allowed to transport in on commerical aircraft because the 80% alcohol content is above the legal limit (think it is about 75%). It has a mesh over the lip of the bottle to prevent it being inadvertantly set lite by a naked flame

 

A word of caution though. It's not wise to put a shot in your mouth and set fire to it - I did it and coughed and set fire to my cheek. Looked like I had ketchup on my face for the next week.

You need to cleanse that palate of yours, Magners isn't a patch on St. Helier!

Lovely stuff, sell it in bottles now in Tesco/Asda and a few places in Manchester do it on draft. Great pint!
