So you're saying you'd defend a suspected paedophile because he made some decent music in a past decade, in spite of the fact that he paid his accuser a $22M out-of-court settlement so it didn't go to trial?

Obviously a few on here have more intimate knowledge on the subject. you'll be telling us next OJ didn't do it everyone on here wants to lighten up a bit a celeb has died, the proceeding 24 hours are always for telling jokes etc

I can guarantee you would ruin yourself financially in order to keep that sort of stuff from your doorstep. You seem to forget that this guy was deeply scarred psychologically from his own lack of childhood. It has been voiced by many professionals that his association with children stems from this. There isn't anything really to prove he had anything but an affinity with children. Yes he's creepy but to say it's sexually motivate is nonsense and if he were still around and you were a rag spouting that he would take you to the cleaners on libel. At the end of the day, he paid of some extortionists in a very high profile attack on his character. It has happened time and time again and he has even been aquitted of the most recent and the money grabbers exposed. Your argument is actually very flawed and herein lies the problem of the sensitiivity of his allegations. You'd think every person accused of molesting a child was guilty. Get a fuckin' grip! Granted he left his flank wide open for the taking but at no point has it been proven and for the majority, quite the contrary. I'm no advocate of Michael Jackson and his antics but I doubt he was a paedophile. Just a nutjob who thought he was a kid stuck in a mans body.

I can guarantee you, if I was innocent, I'd clear my name and wouldn't even entertain the idea of paying out. All you're achieving by doing that is inviting more false claims, and admitting that you didn't want it to go to court because you'd probably get convicted.

A point sterlingly portrayed by the way people reacted to his case and many other peoples'. People cry 'paedo' first and rarely ask questions second. It's a shame but quite understandable considered what a disgusting crime child abuse is. How would you clear your name given the lack of evidence from both parties? This is something Michael Jackson was determined to do on the second count and came out victorious. It would be hard enough for a normal bloke to repel such claims. Now I don't give a toss either way, but weren't there two seprate cases against him? - the first one involving Jordy (or whatever he was called) was settled out of court, and he lumped out $22M for the privilage. The second time, he went to court and was cleared of all charges. So you're both kind of right. For what it's worth, I think he was a very sick man (in the mental sense of the word) and he probably did do inappropriate things, such as let them share his bed etc, as to if he was a filthy bummer or not, I don't know, or care really. Wether he was found guilty or not, ask yourself this question, would you let him babysit your child, or let him change their nappy?
