not trying to be controversial, and not being a big fan does help me to make this statement but i can't understand all this mass hysteria over the death of the bloke. in the last 10 years he's probably been more famous for being a fruit-loop and an alleged paedo than for his music. IMO made one good album and not far behind garry glitter and mike tyson in the gas chamber queue. bainwashed fans do tend to gloss over his sleeping arrangements don't they.

Are there not already enough threads about this or is your opinion SO important it warrants a new one?

PS merging.

Apparently he was as White as a Ghost when they found him.

Of course he was white, Plastic Surgeons never use UV stabilized stock.

my opinion is obviously not as important your opinion is of yourself and your pointless comment, but point taken. it shoud have been in this deadpool thread.

maybe the glasto threads need merging too ? oops thread hijack in progress.

wacko jacko goodbye and thanks for the court cases and out of court settlements and the off the wall (see what I did there) behaviour...... oh, and Thriller!

yep totally agree! anyone else think there somat seriously wrong with the people who are his fans and shelled out to see him?

a complete nut case who should have been locked up for self abuse before his paedo activities. Cant stand the likes of Geller and the other string of celebs who blame the press for people misunderstanding him. Whats there to misunderstand? The press did not bleach his skin, impose his fascination into wanting to look like Diana Ross or force him into bed with monkeys and young boys or wear face masks.

I think that is what irks me about all this. He was still allowed to have his children when clearly he was barking in a number of ways, same as that waste of air, Kerry Katona. It seems that if you're famous you get to keep your children. It's an odd society we live in.

you could not be more right!

or dangle his own child out of a hotel window

Social services seemed to miss that one

They seem to miss a few....

I've no doubt there are good and bad in the social services, as there are in most areas. The problem is, we only get to hear about the Baby P incidents and the Torso in the Thames; which was another child on the local "At Risk" register.

I have no doubt that much of the stuff they do is good stuff. It's a thankless task though. I also don't doubt that making one mistake in their job can tar you for life within your area of expertise. Mind you, when a young life is at stake, maybe mistakes should't happen!

They will make mistakes though, sad as it is as human error is always going to occur unfortunately. I can't imagine how difficult a job it can be working on the ground as it were, and how soul destroying it can be at times.

We live in a society now where the onus seems to be on the social workers to do their job perfectly & get slated when mistakes happen. If you look at some of the subcultures these days I fear they're pissing in the wind!

A bit more sterilisation is required and fuck the filthy slags' & shite dads' human rights!

very true and a sobering thought, however as long as the majority of social workers are fished from the same pond that is extremist commie graduartes (I exclude a fellow poster who I know who occasionally post on here, who came from a very different background) and their left wing PC ideology is allowed to dictate policy, nowt will change and the not rights will always be given the benefit of doubt.

My point was pertinent to the running of the board and wasn't a personal attack, more a generic one. I dislike merging threads as it's harder than it should be, too easy to fuck it up and I have better things to do with my life. Your posts won't need merging for while anyway.

How can you say a comment is pointless but then accept it???

My cousin is a social care manager and cut from the same cloth as me. Worse in some instances. One huge problem is all the red tape and inter-agency involvment. It's not as easy as 'little Johnny is getting nonced so I'm fetching him home with me'.

She was telling me her staff earn ?21k a year for going into drunken junkies scutters houses and asking them if they are noncing or beating their kids.

By contrast, her hubby works in a food factory and he has eastern europeans packing boxes of crisps for ?18k a year.

Not for a gold pig.

To be honest, I don't think it is necessarily always the social workers themselves but some of the stupid fucking rules and loops they have to go through in every single instance and case. I know a really great girl who is a social worker and she is in the job because of what she endured as a child in the hope she could make a difference to others in the same situation; she is engulfed in red tape, human rights and 'best practice' that prevents common sense prevailing when it is needed most...

Jacko. Finally, he beat it.

I imagine all the crying about the death of this recent drug-soused entertainment freak has most to do with the unfortunate inconvenience that the other drug-soused entertainment freaks now face. They will have to look for another local, safe and reputable babysitter. No longer will they be able to drop their kids off down the street at Jacko?s to be watched for the afternoon and spend some play time with his own kids.

I hate the paparazzi, and think they should all be shot for the obsessive invasion of privacy. But I?m really going miss ALL those TMZ and Entertainment Tonight video clips of Jacko?s and other celebrity kids playing together. You ever see any of those? Weren?t they great? Didn?t they make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside? Worked for me. Every time I caught one it made me believe maybe he wasn?t a pedophile. After all, famous and rich entertainers, with all kinds of money to go to any expense to have things accurately checked out for themselves, wouldn?t let their own little babies near a pedophile?would they?!

Well, you gotta give him credit for one thing. He spent all his money (and then some) before he died. And that?s not an easy thing to calculate. Go ahead, ask your financial planner if he has a plan to pull it off. For all the horrific mismanagement of millions and millions and millions of dollars, here at the end, Jacko did a pretty damn good job at balancing the books in his favor. Sorry, at my new age and with the way the Obama economic plan is going, I couldn?t help but recognize this stunner.

just by merging my post would have, and did make the point. adding your comment was pointless. no need to garnish your decision because i would have understood why it was done.

Tell you what smartarse, next time it's getting deleted. It's miles easier for me that way.

Watched the same Jacko documentary as garp.....it was shocking....the bloke would have been locked up for 20yrs if he wasn't MJ.

Dirty horrible cunt.

No wonder he never had problems getting kiddies round, his fans (including some on here) wouldn't mind him spooning their little ones.

I would have kept quiet for a million and a live performance of Billy Jean.

i'm actually very suprised that none of his brainwashed followers have commited suicide in a david koresh type of way...... fingers crossed eh !

Littlejohns take on it, spot on really.

Quote from Daily Mail

When the head of RCA Records was told that Elvis had died, he is said to have remarked: 'Great career move.'

His modern counterpart at Sony must have entertained similar sentiments after being informed that Michael Jackson had popped his pumps.

Since the news of Wacko Jacko's death Twittered out of Los Angeles, his albums have gone platinum all over again. The megastore shelves have been stripped bare, the Amazons and eBays looted of Jackson memorabilia.

People who hadn't bought a Michael Jackson CD for a quarter of a century, some who had never possessed a Michael Jackson record, were suddenly overcome with a compelling urge to fill their boots with his back catalogue.

For some unfathomable reason, they felt a primeval need to touch the hem of his garment, to lay their hands on a piece of the legend, to be able to tell their grandchildren that they were there; to give them something to occupy their attention until the next series of Britain's Got Talent.

The inconvenient fact that this was someone they didn't know, who lived on a compound thousands of miles away, wasn't going to stand between them and their inalienable right to emote in public.

He was, like, awzum. We love you, Michael!

Tributes for Michael Jackson were seen around the world

While there were displays of sympathy across the world, no one managed to pull it off with quite such sphincter-tightening mawkishness as the British.

In Central London, the provisional wing of the Friends of Dorothy and the usual coven of madwomen took to the streets in a vomit-inducing display of sentimentality and exhibitionism.

Given that they couldn't afford to fly out to California to flaunt their compassion, they manufactured their own Glastonbury of Grief in the West End.

Half of them didn't even know the words. Bobby Jean, you're not my mum!

Seized with the spirit of Lady Di, Old Compton Street clones and bovine birds with pierced navels in Matalan crop tops united in the hedonistic pursuit of vicarious grief.

If ever a crowd needed 'kettling' this was it. I'd have even turned a blind eye to a baton charge and the judicious application of a water cannon.

Michael Jackson: The whole world has gone wacko on Jacko

Television brought us interminable vox pops of assorted non-entities explaining how much Michael had meant to them, with the emphasis on them.

We used to do mourning well in Britain and we still do in some circumstances - think the Queen Mum and the recent 60th anniversary of D-Day.

But there is a frighteningly substantial section of the population which grasps a celebrity death as an excuse for an open air festival of self-pity and self-indulgence.

This is mob grief. There's even a shrine in Piccadilly, for pity's sake.

I couldn't help wondering how many of those on the streets proclaiming their sadness at the death of Saint Michael would have been banging on the side of the prison van if he'd been convicted of child-molesting - just as those who screamed 'racist pig' at Jade Goody were first in the conga line behind her cortege when it came to burying her.

On one level, Michael Jackson was Gary Glitter with money, which enabled him to buy off the parents of his alleged victim Jordie Chandler with $22million.

If he'd tried that in Britain, the same self-appointed mourners singing 'Beat It' out of tune this weekend would have been standing outside his front door, throwing petrol bombs and chanting 'Kill the Paediatrician!'

That's not to say that Jackson was without talent - although as someone steeped in the history of Motown, I'd argue that he's a fairly minor figure compared with Smokey, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Holland-Dozier-Holland, the Tops and the Temps.

The Jacksons were little more than a novelty act churned out at the fag end of the Motown production line - the black Osmonds.

Michael's global fame and fortune was predicated upon a single album, Thriller, which owes as much to Quincy Jones's brilliant production and John Landis's groundbreaking video as it does to the songs themselves.

Elvis, he wasn't. Nor was he Sam Cooke, James Brown or Otis. None of that matters to his fans, nor should it. But a sense of perspective is in order.

There's no accounting for madwomen, but what the hell were Gordon Brown and Call Me Dave doing paying their own personal tributes? Was Gordon trying to recreate Tony Blair's Lady Di moment? 'He was the People's Paedophile.'

As usual, the BBC went bonkers, with one reporter even wearing a black tie. Newspapers followed suit. Rainforests have been felled to churn out special souvenir supplements, which will end up as cat litter.

Soon, it will all be over. We can only give thanks that the funeral isn't in London, otherwise someone might get their head kicked in for not showing enough 'respect'. And thank heaven the football season hasn't started, otherwise it would be a minute's silence all round.

Michael Jackson's global fame and fortune was predicted on the album Thriller, produced by Quincy Jones

A few days before Jacko died, some of us were discussing how many of his scheduled 50 shows at the 02 Arena he would actually perform. Estimates varied between none and zero.

Now, instead of the deranged prima donna who didn't show up and let down his adoring fans, he is immortal.

The insanity, the 'sleepovers' with young children, the ludicrous pet monkey, all forgotten.

He will live on through his music, which post mortem is on course to outsell even the 100 million copies of Thriller shifted when he was alive.

Great career move.

Littlejohns take on it, spot on really.
