Just seen an interview with Megson on SSN on their first day back to pre-season training. He said in addition to Sean Davis he wants another 6 new players!!

 

He also said don't pay attention to press speculation as he said the club last season were linked with about 300 players and will prob be linked with that many this summer.

 

Megson also said he isn't working to a budget but that he just needs to give he names to Gartside and Eddie and they will try to bring them in.

 

hopefully those 6 other players are: CB, LB, CM, RW, ST, ST

23 players is enough imo (for a club of our stature), but i agree they must be of sufficient quality and fitness and i certainly dont beliive bogdan, harsanyi, obadeyi are. vaz and job i can live with.

Fair play for GM to be fair and open in his transfer policy.

 

Ideally we want players in as early as possible eg pre-season training etc but it takes as long as it takes.

 

As long as we get the players Gary wants quality wise/right price before the transfer window ends 31/08/09 is all that matters.

I don't think Basham is good enough for the first team yet, he is overrated at the moment imo. He is young and has a lot to learn.

The Davies we got from Wolves on the other hand I think is more mature footballer and is good enough to start, and will get better quicker.

I know a few won't agree with me and we can only guess about what will happen in the future.

I think Chris Basham is an excellent prospect. Outstanding against Man U where he bossed the midfield against the likes of Fletcher. Also scored a cracking goal, one of a very small handful from our centre mids. Not sure what he has done to be called overrated.

 

Mark D I thought had the best debut I have seen in many years at the Reebok, then did very little in his other starts. Based just on his debut, he will do for me.
