You think you lot have got problems with this swine flu.

I'm surrounded by the fucckers!

I have always been pretty dismissive of the whole swine flu hype, but we've just been told a kid who's in the same class as my little lad in nursery has got it so it does make you a little concerned when it starts to get close to home, especially so because he has asthma. He's just gone away today on his holidays with his mum so fingers crossed he will be fine...

youngest daughter been in hospital with it all week, which has been worrying as all deaths have other major health problems

also worrying that we told them thats what she had the symptoms of last Thursday and they eventually tested on Wednesday and confirmed yesterday

anyroad, she is on the mend and back home but in quarantine - we have a big black X on the front door

Is the x not because you Simon Cowell's biggest fan?

Glad to hear she is on the mend, she will be fine

Any sign of a gig from our favourite band?

supposed to be a new album and tour from both the band and boothy, but no signs yet

anything is better than several days with a temperature of over 40!!

3 birds in our office self-diagnosed themselves with it this week .

aye, well could be worse - could be swine flu

see this is a good point - when they talk about "underlying health problems" how bad does that mean?

At one extreme it could obviously only be people in a very bad way - maybe weakened by treatments already ongoing (eg for cancer) or a long term seriously debilitating illness. At then other end though you could include pretty much anything that separates them from full fitness eg asthma as you say, allergies, diabetes etc. When you get to that level you may well find more are within that categorisation than outside of it - so unless we're told some idea of where that line is drawn, I'm not sure how much of a comfort that notion is....

Ponting.......piss funny :yahoo:

glad she's on the mend, can i ask you what were the oiginal symptoms? my little lad has, a bad stomach, sore throat and a temperature, not excessive, but high enough to cause a bit of concern, swollen top lips and complaining his "brain feels funny" he's had this for 2 days now dont want to panic about any of this swine flu, but just wondered if yours had anything similar to that

cheers, he has most of that, the helpline has said give him some calpol and see how he is, now i know they are busy and must be getting a lot of panicking parents as soon as they see a sniffle, but surely they'd realise that he's had this for 2 days and we have already tried calpol?

hope your on the mend soon anyway

big one is the temperature - 40.3 I think was the max that we got to

bit difficult to tell with the youngest, with her underlying health problems and the fact that she can't talk mean we are guessing at symptoms, but bad head, cough - she never gets runny nose, so that was the delay in diagonsing and the fact they diagnosed a chest infection, even though x ray was clear!

I would say, if you haven't got a raging temp, you've not got swine flu.

Nursey friend reckons the talk around the NHS is that you need all those symptoms PLUS vomiting and the shits. Quack reckons if you don't get the shits and puking everywhere its not pigflu. HOWEVER, different people MAY have different symptoms, some might have it and not even know.

So there you go. Good as our NHS is, it's also incredibly vague.........

Hmm

When this started, we were told that we were the world's best prepared country

29 have died here, 0 in France, for example

That we could vaccinate 30m;but we haven't done

Edited by boltondiver

I'm not leaving the house until it's over

I've moved my Mrs into the back bedroom

If I get it, it is due to pig sex

Hmm

If it's a choice of possibly dying of Swine Flu over here or living in the same country as French people, I'm happy to take the chance by remaining here.

Think i may have it, just rang NHS direct and all I got was crackling

Think i may have it, just rang NHS direct and all I got was crackling and an annoying need to post a joke 6 weeks after it was last deemed funny!

Moaning old sod

I think I had it yesterday. My temperature hit 42 degrees and I was sick as a dog.

I got rid of it by running up to the pike then sitting in an ice bath for 20 minutes.

Soft as shite the lot of you.

I wonder if all the pigs are shit scared of getting man flu?
