Anybody doing this on Sunday?

Anyway by chance stumbled upon the road restrictions taking place.

For instance Chorley New Road is shut from 10.30am until midnight for the marathon leg.

Put this up as I havent seen these advertised (apart from vague road signs) anywhere - I dont get a Bolton News mind.

No chance - I have a friend of a friend who's doing it, so we've arranged to meet him at the finish line which apparently is conveniently near the Lion of Vienna!

Thought the finish line is in the town centre? There was talk of it being in the Reebok but says town hall square on website.

I'm going to do it next year if it's still in Bolton. The finish line is in the Town Centre.

yup finish line is on the town hall square.

if you live in horridge and if you're not going to watch the triathalon i'd stay at home on sunday it's gonna be carnage

Bugger!

Ive got a few friends doing it, one of them is 51 did it for the for the first time last year. As it is in Bolton this year his family paid for him to do it..........gee thanks you shouldnt have........................no you really shouldnt have.

Half the the battle in this event is in your head, physically most entrants should complete no problem as they have trained for it but it is keeping going mentally that is the challenge. It is too easy to set off like a train, it is all about constant heart rates. the elite do it in 8 hours but your average joe is from 11 to 15 hours, think about that for a minute, constant ponding for that lenght of time.

Ive trained with lads and lasses and fcuk me they are good, if you get chance get down there to support them, bottles of water, lucozade, oranges, bananas, jelly babies etcwill all be greatly recieved. If you live on route hose pipe or sprinkler will be appreciated especially if its anything like a nice day. Or just clap and cheer believe me there is nothing better than strangers encouraging you.

Bolty just remembered is your mate over for this?

Bugger bollocks! I have been hoping it was going to be cancelled due to the weather! Why can't the fucking meatheads do it somewhere other than the end of my frigging road! I suppose it makes a change from the screaming Go Ape plebs, chavs in their Novas & general dogging deviants!

How about a dip in Penny Flash, a run round Leyth city centre, a bike ride along Atherleigh way & then a buffet in the Moony?

It looks as though I won't be able to escape our estate on sunday, preventing a visit to the gym

You must have your hearing aid turned up too loud, they're miles from you!!

I was told my road would be restricted at various times between 6 am and 11 am. No concern to me, there's only one twelve in the day on a Sunday.

How about a dip in Penny Flash, a run round Leyth city centre, a bike ride along Atherleigh way & then a buffet in the Moony?

I went for a good bike ride on Monday night to sweat out the jagermeister and altbeer and it fucking stank. Well I think it was the Flash though I wasnt too tidy myself in all honesty. Its also got that blue green algae or sommat too.

And anyone running through Leyth town centre gets stopped by the police.

Bolty just remembered is your mate over for this?

No mate - next year. Wanted to get in this year but it was fully booked out.

Don't worry mate - he'll be in touch with you next year. Top lad whose training needs to include some Thatchers; Ye Olde Pastie Shop pasties etc :D

This is Tim when he's not triathleticating.

My brother is taking part this Sunday and due to it being a "hilly" course is hoping to complete somewhere under 11 hours. He is a fitness fanatic anyway and has been training solid for almost 12 months for this. I was hoping to give my support from the roadside but I will be in Scotland at the Scottish Orienteering Championships all next week (so will be at Hearts on Tuesday).

The Ironman will be here in Bolton for at least the next 3 years and yes the finish line is on the town hall square with the first finishers due about 2.00pm. So maybe a few off here can start your training and get your name down for next year...oh and entry fee for this year was ?275!!

No chance - I have a friend of a friend who's doing it, so we've arranged to meet him at the finish line which apparently is conveniently near the Lion of Vienna!

I heard that. I'd rather watch paint dry than a bunch of blokes running/swimming/cycling in orange/lemon/pink lycra.

.....inches of vibrating rubber?

You sicken me

right so if i wanted to drive to the barn/old castle area on sunday afternoon, am I going to be able to?

I obviously know other ways to get on Lever Park ave but is it's closure with scholes bank because the event comes up scholes bank or because it uses lever park ave?

You sicken me

Take no notice BCG, he wouldnt say it to your face especially if A was around, he would be all shy sucking his thumb
