so long, farewell

We'll always have Guimaraes

Good luck to him.

How long has he been here 5 years? If he is fit but can't even get on the bench with our lack of strikers then he needs to move on.

The highlight of his Wanderers career will definitely be the awesome bit of skill he showed at Blackburn :D :D

ignoring the chav speak, those two statements sum-up Vaz Te perfectly.

For the goal in Portugal, he will never be forgotton but equally his bambi impressions never will be either.

We shouldn't forget that he has been mighty unlucky with injuries. He ended one season with a glut of goals and followed it up with a great pre-season but he has never recovered from an injury early into the new season. At the time he was scoring goals for fun and we will never know what may have been.

Why don't you expand a little on this well thought out answer?

Well MickeyD, considering he cant stay on his feet and is allways injured! I think wank sums the guy up.

What is the benefit of selling him now for ?250,000 apart from saving on wages , obviously he is not fully match fit yet folllowing

his knee surgery .

At least when fit he will be an option, we are'nt exacly flush with strikers at the moment .

I would give him one last chance & if it doesnt work out this season get bowt in the summer

At the end of the 2006-7 season he did show some progress & scored a few goals , Anelkas arrival

the next season put him back on the bench & he was sporadically used as a makeshift winger

by Allardyce .

Terrible terrible footballer. How he's stayed so long on the payroll is beyond me. What is even further beyond me is how any other team will have seen enough evidence to make a bid for him. It's not even as if there's any Daniel-Braaten-esque youtube footage to go on (Guimares aside). When was this "glut of goals" - did I miss it?!? We should get rid, and take what we can get for him...

I think we loan him out for a season

Totally agreed. All know he showed promise (yes, a good while ago but still) We have a distinct lack of strikers atm, so why not keep hold and hope he comes through this injury. Don't think he's gonna be on wages that are breaking the bank!

Must admit, I'm not usre when the "glut" of goals was.

I think he's had enough chances, we should probably get rid. If we get ?250K for him then great, if not, nevermind

:good:

Apart from Anelka, 3 goals in 4 games and a few more in the next pre-season is an avalanche of goals as far as Bolton are concerned for strikers over the last 5 or 6 years. A certain Turnip (or is it Swede) would suck off Megson on the half way line in celebration if he scored 3 goals in 4 games!

Won't argue with that stat, but I think a more telling statistic is that this "glut" is one glut in seven years. Oh and the small matter that it constitutes almost half the number of goals he's got for us. Regardless, just don't think he's up to it as a player. And there's an argument to say the fact he's still amonst our ranks masks the dearth of realistic options we've got up front - put simply, we need to add to the ranks, and not pin our hopes on rolling a six and hoping he'll come good, because history says otherwise...

Never said I was pinning any hopes on the lad, you are twisting my words now!

What I said was that he hit a purple patch either side of the summer of that year but then got injured in the first league match of the new season He has never recovered from that injury and thus, we will never know if the 'glut' of goals was his 15 minutes of fame or the start of a very good career as a goal scorer.

As for now, I reckon we should have ripped up his contract a year ago when talk of a return to Portugal was muted.
