tyldesley_white Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Never said I was pinning any hopes on the lad, you are twisting my words now! What I said was that he hit a purple patch either side of the summer of that year but then got injured in the first league match of the new season He has never recovered from that injury and thus, we will never know if the 'glut' of goals was his 15 minutes of fame or the start of a very good career as a goal scorer. As for now, I reckon we should have ripped up his contract a year ago when talk of a return to Portugal was muted. Was his glut of goals when he got a run in the team and not the 5 or 6 mins from the bench type stuff , just asking because I cant remember

Yatesy I wasn't talking about you directly pinning your hopes on him - I was talking about us as a club generally needing to look at different options. Apols for the confusion.
YATESY Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Was his glut of goals when he got a run in the team and not the 5 or 6 mins from the bench type stuff , just asking because I cant remember It was indeed. Big Sam chucked him in for a few starts when the season was as good as over.
tyldesley_white Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 It was indeed. Big Sam chucked him in for a few starts when the season was as good as over. And then Sammy Lee played him in almost every per season game. if I remember correctly and he looked impressive and he got hurt just before the season started
Traf Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 He got injured in the first game of the season against FSA's Jawdees.
jayjayoghani Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 And then Sammy Lee played him in almost every per season game. if I remember correctly and he looked impressive and he got hurt just before the season started Sammy Lee took over a year after - the start of 2007-08 season. Thought he got injured against Newcastle (Allardyce's return)?
HomerJay Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 And then Sammy Lee played him in almost every per season game. if I remember correctly and he looked impressive and he got hurt just before the season started he did seem to have developed alot, both mentally and physically. shame for the lad, but i think he still needs a change of scenary.
Traf Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 he did seem to have developed alot, both mentally and physically. shame for the lad, but i think he still needs a change of scenary. Not even Championship standard IMO.
Carlos Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Not even Championship standard IMO. Neither is Elmander, Vaz should be an ample understoody.
Guest Blixa Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Fitness, a good pair of boots and less ego and he might have been a contender.
cowyead Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Terrible terrible footballer. How he's stayed so long on the payroll is beyond me. What is even further beyond me is how any other team will have seen enough evidence to make a bid for him. It's not even as if there's any Daniel-Braaten-esque youtube footage to go on (Guimares aside). When was this "glut of goals" - did I miss it?!? We should get rid, and take what we can get for him... luck to be at bwfc for so long, this guy is TURD
Winchester White Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Fitness, a good pair of boots and less ego and he might have been a contender. somebody If he can get fit very soon then keep him, if not then thanks for the memory...
bolton va va Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I"d given up on him , until i saw Riga. Of the two i"d give Vaz Te another chance.
Traf Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Was his glut of goals when he got a run in the team and not the 5 or 6 mins from the bench type stuff , just asking because I cant remember A glut of goals? Don't forget even Elmander scored 4 goals in a 3 away-game spell last season. Form is temporary, class is permanent and neither Vaz T? nor Elmander will be a success in a Bolton ahirt, unfortunately.
Guest Blixa Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Interesting l'il piece on Sky about this, with quotes from our Ricardo saying he's rejected Turkey, is two weeks from match fitness and is keen to fight for his place. The stage is set...Vaz Te will come riding in like a knight is shining armour...slaying the doubters and bagging 20 goals in a season. He's the future. Trust me.

Bigtoe Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Rejected the move to turkey http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5516357,00.html
Big E Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 "continue to do my best" maybe looking interested when given a chance would be a start. the guy is bonefuckingidle!
whiteboy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 either megson doesn't rate him at all, or he must have something lined up for another striker... while he clearly hasn't excelled at bolton, he has pace and some ability and must be a better option off the bench that what's on it at the moment
