October 28, 200916 yr Was that when Reeves and Frilly Skirt made their debuts? I can't confirm whether they made their debuts at Burnley or if either played in any of the games on the Isle of Man against Motherwell,Dundalk and Swansea. I can confirm that Reevesy scored both goals at Turf Moor, the first on 15 seconds.

October 28, 200916 yr I always regret not making the Isle of Man games - heard a good few reports of kegged-up malarkies?? Well our other visit was in 1991 when we played Sunderland,Shelbourne and the Isle Of Man. Single sheets for each match plus a tournament brochure.
October 28, 200916 yr I always regret not making the Isle of Man games - heard a good few reports of kegged-up malarkies?? Oh Satan you would have loved it. Went in 91(I think) Sunderland, Stoke, SC Cambur?? (Holland) Shelbourne IOM and us, happy days. Blow up dolls on the pitch, 75 a side at half time, drinking with the players, Well known old hooligan(FD) "you dont sweat much for a fat bird" and his luggage 24 cans and a tent, CG throwing his false leg around the Hotel Continental, pitch and putt, drinking in the ground, one of the first "undercover" ob-wearing a cheap suit, 30 odd bolton yoof trying to get in the knickers of two stoke girlies....without sucess. If Besiktas was cavier IOM was netto tuna but when you are hungry you will eat anything.

October 30, 200916 yr was that in the 70's? seem to remember a pre season game there....twas my first visit to the town...remeber it wernt the pushover that blackburn or oldham used to be. Think I'd have been about 14 or 15 so 1976 ish. Played them in Anglo-Scottish Cup the pre-season after they'd been relegated from the 1st division. We thumbed it as far as rawtenstall on the back of a flat-bed truck. Walked the rest of the way. Got accosted by a big group on our way down Manchester Road.
October 30, 200916 yr I always regret not making the Isle of Man games - heard a good few reports of kegged-up malarkies?? Very lucky to have to gone to both IOM trips 89 and 91. Remember one of the years the organisers sent us everywhere on the island Peel,Ramsey and Castletown as we brought the most fans so got as much dosh out of us. Swansea players were on the same ferry going over, saw Stubbys and Browny in the cave nightclub. Also saw Gabbiadini having a few lagers as well. A very young 19 year old on the first trip and grew up pretty quick. Remember singing Sit down by James in one Douglas boozer with all the Bolton fans. Happy times and now stuck with this Prem lark

If Besiktas was cavier IOM was netto tuna but when you are hungry you will eat anything. Quality trip that!!!! Blow-up doll on the pitch was one of my finest memories!! Drinking til the early hours with the players in the Continental. Then bumping into Viv Busby the following morning - asking him how the night had gone for the Stoke players - they'd been tucked up early - the look on his face when I told him some of the Bolton players were still out!!!!! I remember Philly being a right ladies man. Reevsie was a top, top lad..... whilst Stu Storer invented "chav wear" - going out for a night on the tiles in a full tracky with that cheeeeeeeeeeezy 'tache of his!!! I thought CG still had his 'real' leg for that trip? I remember him telling me about 'one lad' getting back to the hotel before everyone else and sticking their toothbrushes up his arse, then returning them to the toothbrush holder in the bathroom! I think I nearly convulsed into a coma on hearing that!!! Also remember being on the other side of the harbour with the Sunderland lads and definitely singing Sit Down in some bar or other. Wasn't there also a dance with a "dying fly" in it????
