but these people, must do this everyday, must be going into Manchester, and must be late

thought t'other way on the M60 were bad at times but that takes the p?ss

next time they propose a congestion charge I'm voting yes

1h 15m to get to work

2hrs 15 to preston this morning....normally takes just over an hour. if you do not feel comfortable on the motorway in the rain stay at home and stop holding me up!!!!

Usually the congestion goes to junction 5 Hunger Hill where I get on

Fortunately I'm going to Chorley. Or not perhaps

Think its caused by St Peters Way/M61 traffic joining the M60 anti-clockwise. The bottleneck gradually moves backwards.

Plus all the lane jostling SPW/M61 just prior on that 4 lane bit.

They're widening the M60 between J14 to 12 over the next 5 years I think. Not sure it will rectify it meself

in the countryside this morning, it was tidal

methinks our wonderful council have let all the grids/drains get silted up

Well, they had a warning 2 weeks ago, but seem not to have heeded it

CNR was a lake early on

Chorley new road nr beehive was underwater. It only happend about 2 weeks ago, council dont seem to have done much about it.

Frank Spencers lot are wankers :D

CNR - Topp Way - St.Peter's Way, Off at Kearsley down the A666, get on the M60 at Clifton.

Still a couple of bottlenecks to negotiate, but quicker overall I reckon.

go down the A6 thro walkden and on to the M60. shimples

Same for me coming to Preston. You are probably right as unbelievable as it sounds that people can't drive properly in the rain. From what I saw and traffic reports on the radio there didn't seem to be any crashes.

that is correct. not one crash from leaving frodsham and getting on the m6 at lymm to leaving the m6 at junction 32! very frustrating.

It always backs up, for a while you only hit it at junction 3 or 2, especially when the kiddies are off. But this year we didn't get that respite due to the roadworks and camera traps. Normally you'd hit the backed up traffic at junction 4 and queue along with the merging traffic from A666 to get on the M60. Now its fuckin' ridiculous, its at the worst I can remember it, almost daily between 7.30 and 9.00 the traffic will back up all the way to Chequerbent Junction 5 and almost certainly further back.

The only time I could recollect that before it becoming a regular occurance was when all the Scot's came down to Manc for the UEFA Cup. The A6 becomes clogged up with excess traffic too and is slower than the M. It's a tedious journey needs sorting big time.

Edit: There never is any crashes, you'd have to be a fuckin numpty to crash in snail pace traffic!

So

From Lostock, go down CNR, onto St Pete's Way

15 minutes consistently every day to the slip road down onto East Lancs

CNR is also a ball ache in the morning. St Peter's backs up aswell at the merging junction. I would make about 5 minutes if indeed it only took me 15 to get there and a lot more mileage.

Why would you touch the M61 in rush hour to get to Bury? Twice!

Bury Rd surely?

Bury Rd surely?

only been working there 3 months

am v used to going anywhere from Horwich via M61

rarely ever driven across bolton

before I started this job I'd never been to Bury

will put this one down to experience

I go to Manc every day on the East Lancs, I used to set off around 6:20 to beat the traffic because after 6.30 the build up is fuckin awful, adds at least half an hour on the journey. No problems now thouigh because I go in on the bike, half an hour extra in bed and home 40 minutes earlier too.

Depends where you live & which part of Bury. For someone over our way to try & even get to Bury road is just as horrendous.

BTW, Bolton Council leaf men were unblocking drains on Lever Park near Rivington school today, where were Chorley's to sort out the lake on Dryfield which nigh on knackered my car up? Not a one to be seen!

Fair play Bolton Council even turned up to do it!

Today it was because of the rain. It took my mate 1.5 hours to get from Crown to Beehive this morning.

Thankfully I wet the bed last night so left for work at 7.15 and it took me an hour to get in. It's half an hour on a good day.

If I get up late, there's no point me leaving the house until 9am as I'd just be sat in traffic. It's usually ok after 9. Thank heaven for flexi time.

I do M61, and M60 North thankfully, would hate to do South in a morn. I usually skip past those queuing.

Hour and a half to get to Chester this morning because of a thepissing rain and waggins hogging the middle lane of the M56. These cunts should be pulled over and tried for attempted manslaughter.

It's a good job the public transport in this country is of such a terrifically superior standard or else the roads would be fucked

Right, now, waggon drivers. I can begin to appreciate that sometimes a slightly smaller waggon will need to overtake a great big waggon. That much is just fine with me.

BUT

When it happens, why can't the great big waggon touch his brakes, just for three or four seconds, and let the smaller one by. Instead it's a fuckin five minute ordeal holding the rest of us up. THEN THE BIG FUCKER WILL FLASH THE SMALLER ONE TO LET HIM BACK IN AS IF HE'S DONE THE WORLD A FUCKING FAVOUR.

And another thing, when I'm in charge people who don't indicate on roundabouts are in serious mither and will be best advised to emigrate.

Most of this country's problems can be directly attributed to the acute stupidity of most of its inhabitants.

people who indicate right on mini roundabouts and go straight on are my main hatred

that and people who try and jump the traffic by going straight on in a right turn lane
