Megson Losing The Dressingroom?

Featured Replies

GARY MEGSON is battling to save his job after an extraordinary bust-up with defender JLloyd Samuel.

The Bolton chief flew into a half-time rage at Wolves last weekend and the pair went "nose-to-nose" during their amazing scenes.

Bolton's stunned players, who were trailing 1-0 at Molineux, had to separate the pair before any punches could be thrown.

According to Reebok sources, Samuel was the peacemaker when Megson launched into his players at the break at Wolves.

Megson began a tirade at two Bolton players that was only interrupted when Samuel told his manager "enough's enough".

The Bolton left-back told Megson it was a team game and that others were also responsible for Jody Craddock's third-minute goal.

That prompted Megson to turn on Samuel in a vicious exchange, with both hurling insults at each other and the defender adding: "It's no wonder none of the players want to play for you."

Somebody who wanted Megson out obviously!

Do you know something we don't ??

if such a thing happened, I doubt jls would have been on the bench today.

No I don't but I did think it rather unusual for Gartside to give his 'frank' interview with the BN in midweek.

I'm guessing now that that was Gartsides way of telling the dressing room that Megson was not going anytime this side of Christmas and that he and not the dressing room would say if and when Megson was going - not them.

Fair shout that Sluffy.

Let's see how his mood is at 9am on Wednesday. A loss to West Ham gets us right in the shite but a good win shows that he probably can keep us up again !

I'd imagine this kind of thing goes on at plenty clubs week in, week out.

Im sorry but NOTW, come on lads, its got to be the worst tabloid in the country for shite.

some fcuking cockhead

He was dropped for a poor player who won't get in the team when Megson is sacked.

Who had a cracking game yesterday

I think the story is linked to this

I had a bit of a go at them at half time and the person I was having a go at didn?t accept it, so we ran it on the DVD and it?s as obvious as the nose on your face

1. It sounds like it has an element of truth (JLS was on the bench due to the nature of our squad, he wasn't the obvious person to drop).

2. That story sounds like it has been sold to the NOTW (or it would have broke sooner), probably not by a player, but certainly by an acquaintance.

3. The McLaren bit has very obviously been tagged on.

4. Gartside doing that interview indicates the club knew the story was brewing.

5. Yesterday showed the players ARE (in the main) behind the manager.

- still makes no difference though, the run of games coming up was always the make or break for Megson.

I"d have been more surprised if there hadn"t been heated talk at half -time at Wolves -& we did improve second half.

The players who matter showed their commitment on the pitch yesterday , and i"d be more interested in rooting out & getting rid of the bad apple who leaked this story. Dressing room talk should stay in the dressing room.

Is he telling us it's AOB :pardon:

You didn't go to the game yesterday then?

No I don't but I did think it rather unusual for Gartside to give his 'frank' interview with the BN in midweek.

I thought it was Birch-Chorley who makes that decision.

No, no, no

He scours the world, sifts out the wheat from the chaff and makes the recommendations (well until PG goes)

Thought the selection of Robinson stood up on merit as he is a better defender than JLS. There isn't too much to choose between them and against a quality front line as City's the selection of Robinson would probably have been made anyway.

Equally, the restoring of JLS for the West Ham match may have been on the cards too but who's cross did our third goal come from? I think Robinson did more than enough yesterday to hold his place.

Megson slams 'scurrilous' claims

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11672_5771403,00.html

It (the story) was done on purpose," added Megson. "I was disappointed when I saw it, but I'm not surprised at where it's come from.

"I know who has put it in there, I know why it was put in there, and no good can come from crap like that.

"The stuff that was in it, most of it was scurrilous, was deemed to cause problems, but it wasn't true.

To be honest, I'm getting a bit fucked off with people inside the club going to the press with stories that do nothing to help the club at all.

Fair do's Traf but I'm also sick of Gartside and Megson's coded messages, they need to grow up.

'People in football know'...

'There are elements trying to unsettle the club'...

'Whoever wrote it (the latest JLS story), it's nothing to do with football'...

What the f?ck? If someone is unsetlling the club name them. If some journo has an agenda, name them.

Seems to me like rampant paranoia, or at least focussing on all the wrong things

Gartside & Megson were included in my post.
