Whizz Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Great result. Shite game. Poor atmosphere. But 3 points will do for me.
magic legs Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I thought Cahill was immense last night - hope he can carry that forward for the rest of the season. Thought we looked solid and in control until they equalised and we were rocking for a bit then. Jussi is a better keeper than England's 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. Doesn't bode well for South Africa!
tylswhite Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) I cant understand people saying it was crap last night, we were in complete control for almost the full 90 minutes. The only time we looked dodgy was for a few minutes after we scored the 1st. I know they were dogshit but you cant really ask for more from our lot imo Edited December 16, 2009 by tylswhite
Horwich Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 If i'd been in nets for west ham yesterday, the score would have been 0-0 after 60 minutes. Fookin fact
Traf Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 If i'd been in nets for west ham yesterday, the score would have been 1-1 after 90 minutes. Fookin fact Most people with hands could say that too.
tylswhite Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 If i'd been in nets for west ham yesterday, the score would have been 0-0 after 60 minutes. Fookin fact That doesnt make it a crap game though does it? We had a few efforts that were deflected/blocked wide and we still scored 3 in the last 30 minutes. Jussi could of gone back to the dressing room for the first hour also with the amount of times he saw the ball. People are just too impatient, if we dont score after 10 minutes they start fucking moaning saying "shit game this". Scoring 3 goals in a game is good going even if Rob Green swapped teams for 10 minutes
Horwich Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 My point is that if we take 60+ minutes to test a keeper of a shite team (and they are shite) then IMO its not class as the type of performance some people on here are talking about. Great result, thats all that matters, lets not get carried away thinking we are the next Brazil, Monday will be a different story.

YATESY Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 And 1-1 after 88 minutes. Englands number 1. and at full time if they had placed a man on the post for the corner

We need to keep it going on Monday and get at least a point, if we match Wigan's hunger to win the game weve got enough quality to beat them imo. I just hope we dont turn up and stand off them and let them play or we will be back to square one.

Whisky Face Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Man U won the title last season through winning when they weren't necessarily playing well. We have played better, against better teams, and not won (Spurs and Man City). That is football.

What about the Taylor corner he had to claw out from under his bar in the first half.
Carlos Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 WHU clearly came for a draw, they showed no ambition whatsoever despite the fact we can't defend for toffee. We could have scored after about 30 seconds, I thought it was in, there was another deflected shot that may have been even closer. An Italian style team with referee chasers, divers and card wavers has no place in this league, they won't be missed.
YATESY Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 What about the Taylor corner he had to claw out from under his bar in the first half. ...followed up with the next corner that went straight out for a goal kick! Matt Taylor is cheating a living at the moment.

HomerJay Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 to say the game was dire is bollocks. it was an interesting spectacle as we had to do things we dont usually have do to. west ham offered nothing and had no intention to do anything but defend. we are not fuckin arsenal, we struggle breaking teams down when they attack and leave space. so when they all sit in thier own half its always going to be difficult. but we kept plugging away. i have no idea what certain fans want sometime. their expectation are completely and utterly ridiculous.

newquay central Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 3 points on the board , and thats all that matters at the mo , performances can come later . Lets get out the shit first . Another good result at wigan on monday and happy days .Gardner in for taylor and Basham in for Muamba was a cracking shout earlier in the thread .
Traf Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Gardner and Basham in, probably won't happen. He'll be reluctant to make 2 changes in midfield: continuity is the key. I also think he might just bring Ricky in, before Basham.

I do try not to be aggressive at the match it's hard sometime. This is a good example:If I'd have been anywhere near that cunt Franco when he did that, I'd have ripped his greasy head off his pathetic shoulders. How did our players not snot him. I only calmed down when the nobhead got a card a few minutes later. If Zola & Clarke are proud of him then they need to give themselves a bloody good shake!

Traf Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 He might sit Taylor in and play Ricky wide and attack down both flanks, thus making their midfield work backwards rather than forwards.
