I think a possible solution to this is to see if the club he is on loan from, would be willing to loan him to us again but this time with a view to a permanent deal. I could possibly see him being worth around the 3 to 4 Million mark personally but thats just my opinion don't know what other people think.

With a striker like McCarthy who is proven at this level we could nick a few extra points which at the end of the season

could be all the difference.

 

But I do agree we also need a central defender to improve our poor defensive record.

we're 11th top scorers in the prem, but have conceeded more goals than everyone bar hull, burnley and (unsuprisingly thanks to the dicking they got off of spurs) Wiggin

We need a steady centre half to play alongside Cahill more than any other position on the pitch imo. That would make a big difference to the team. If we are buying a striker I would buy Klasnic over Mccarthy any day, Mccarthy looks like he couldnt give two shits when hes playing and he wouldnt last 2 minutes here with that attitude.

Lawrenson was his usual accurate self last week whe he said he couldnt see where the goals would come from for us. Its the lack of clean sheets that worry me. Especially as I cant see where the next (first!) one is coming from!
