I have the view from the other side from a lad who was with him and caught him as he slumped. Their group was looking for Bolton and met the wrong crew. Not condoning or in any way glorifying what the lad who got off with it did. No one should ever go to football and not come home. He and his mates were looking for a ruck and it went bad. Sad shame.

They are certainly big but I always say that anything bigger than a handful is a waste.

In answer to your question. The middle east guy who used to own Wimbledon (I can't remember his name) took over Cardiff City. At that time Iraq was in the news and the traditional way that Muslims react at funerals is by slapping the top of their heads. Cardiff fans took this up in honour of their new owner. They call it doing the Ayatollah.

Some Cardiff no-name band started it years before Hamman took over apparently. Although it was only after I saw him do it in front of the Leeds fans during a cup tie that I first took any notice.

A bit like that dick at Port Vale a few years back, he got more than he bargined for. But at least he went home and got a souvenir for his troubles.

Yep,i remember that. it took fucking ages to get out of the ground and the locals were not a happy bunch after the match. i remember the police was looking for a chap in a leather jacket, yet every fucker got stopped and ID'd

we went on the train that day and the walk back was a nightmare.

Could get a little messy! <img src='http://www.wanderersways.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':::lol:::' />

Thing is though we have played them a few times since 74 and I cant remember anything over and above the normal trouble, and lets face it, those of us that were around in the seventies are now in our fifties/sixties

exactly!!! they came here in Easter 85 and got no revenge, they came here in 88 or 89 (steve thompson pen won the match)and got no revenge.

we went there 3 time, league match boxing day 85, freight rover trophy and the cup tie and they never got revenge.

i'm tempted to write on that shit page, but wont lower my fucking standards.

most if not all of them cunts who have signed up for that facebook page was not even born when the stabbing happened or came to burnden in their entire fucking lives.

and they are looking for revenge ::lol:: ::lol::

It is time for people to move on, which is easy to say from the bolton side.

Maybe it is time for the club to say something, no one should die at a football game, it is envitable from the Blackpool side that he will be seen as an 'innocent' victim, do nt care what he did on the day he did nt deserve to die from a knife.

I am dead old and was 9 when this happened, in the meantime, if they wanted revenege there have been 36 years for their 'lads' (who are probable dads and grandads now) to come over and exact revenge on the people involved.

The sad thing is that if nothing is done beforehand something daft will happen at one of the games and someone who was nt born back then will get hurt. There have been other games since but this is the firsy one since t'internet has been there to stir things up. a lot of people on the balckpool site wany nothing to do with any trouble, but a few others are talking it up already.

The event was just before my time, but was the lad who did it from the caribean? From what I'm told he was deported back this could of happened to either side. So many years have passed and water gone under the bridge it should stop here before some innocent party pays.

The half caste lad left Bolton after being hassled everywhere he went. Didn't know he'd left the country though.

Must be kids born well after the event stirring it up in Blackpool. Wonder if they know the bloke was hounded out of Bolton.

Fook off, I'm not having it rofl.gif

What do they mean by 'we will have our revenge?'

Probably started by a spotty keyboard warrior, seems they are intent on dragging up the past, probably piss and wind like the dingles.

It was on granada, changed his first name to John

It makes a mockery of the term Rest In Peace. I am sure his family and himself wouldn't want this bringing up. If folk in Blackpool have respect for him and his family then they wouldn't be coming out with all these empty threats.

No, he didn't leave the country. I knew him personally. Last saw him at a motorway service station around 95/96. Said he was living in Wolverhampton.

He'd have been better off 'fessing up.

Gonzo mentioned the "Mucker" pub as the Devonshire Arms up N. Shore. The Chorley lot and Co, sussed out the Farmers Arms down S. Shore in 89, much to the bemusement of the regulars. Just handy having two waiting cabs back up town after the mayhem caused with the ensuing mob lobbing bottles after Bolton taking liberty's.
