Today we were shit, down to 10 men and still won.

I'll live with that.

Owen Coyle was interviewed on Five Live after the game and he said that 'We are nowhere near where i want us to be at the moment. We are a work in progress'. If that's true then what we've seen so far

  • We are 6 points of the top, United have 2 games in hand like, but I reckon we deserve at least another 8 points than we are currently on.   Given the teams above us, I think we are having the best

Let's get Tevez ;)

Let's get Tevez ;)

Tevez? Don't set your sights so low.

Let's get Messi, Xavi and Taddy Nowak.

To win the Prem or finish in Top 4?

The belief didn't seem to be there in the first half.

we will never have a better chance, we also have no chance whatsoever, make of that what you will.

I hope fans of other club's dont get wind of this thread.

Put it down to giddyness. We couldn't string a pass together in that first half.

I'm with Ani on this one.

It's our best ever non-existent chance.

God where do I go to get my tattoo removed then?

A top 10 finish and the FA Cup would do me this season :D

Call me a pessimist, but a mere top 10 finish and retaining the services of Mr Coyle would do for me.

we're gonna win the league

we're gonna win the league

i know you dont believe us

i'm going to steffs tomorrow, getting a champs league tattoo for next year

A top 6 finish is more realistic without getting carried away. We won't win the FA Cup as OC will play a weakened side if it means finishing higher in the league when picking players to play or rest. Remember we haven't got a massive squard filled with quality, we have a decent squad with a good 11 with the rest just fringe players.

Getting carried away and talk of a top 4 finish makes us no better than citeh fans (spit).

Couldn't think of a more succinct way of putting it :good:

Nothing wrong with a bit of optimism, cunts !

Shut it relegation fodder!

I'm not greedy, I'd settle for 2nd ....... we've never managed that before either.

Right, I'd better get off out. Seeing the Wizard of Oz about next year's trip to Kansas ......

Given the teams above us, I think we are having the best season so far in the Prem all things considering, we have seen cracking football, we are seeing plenty of goals and goals worthy of winning goal of the month on a regular basis. We can't play well every week but we have shown the passion and belief to still get points when not playing that well or even having a man short[birmingham and Blackburn]

Every team in the League can say that Didles, EVERY TEAM.

Or... you'll never have a better chance to dream about winning the league for the first time in our history.

We're almost halfway through the season and we've only lost three times. Of those defeats, only City and Arsenal were deserved. If that was any other team, you'd say they had a chance of the title. Harry Wobblechops thinks that Spurs can win it and they are only a point in front of us.

Owen Coyle is just passing through on his way to bigger and better things, so enjoy it while it lasts.

We're doing alright.

Our best seasons for yonks were between 2003 and 2007.

At the turn of the year in those seasons we had:

03/04 23 points from 19 games

04/05 23 points from 20 games (qualified for Europe)

05/06 31 points from 18 games

06/07 39 points from 21 games (qualified for Europe)

26 points from 17 games is a tidy return based on those performances.

There's a long way between January and May, though.

A lot will depend on who we can bring in during the transfer window and which of the current squad are still here when it closes.

4 points from the next 2 will be good for me

then i'd expect us to lose the next 2

so, 30 from 21

They really are two outstanding points totals - what did we finish on, points wise, for both of them seasons?

56 points both times.
