Me and the missus are off bestween before Xmas and Jan 4th, so thinking of going away for a week...Boxing day til the 2nd Jan or 27th til the 3rd....

We want some sun and the options coming up appear to be the Canaries or T'Egypt.

Anyone got any other ideas, or been away this time of year?

Its Canaries or Egypt mate! That's the option!

T'egypt have a small problem with a shark or two. Stick ter t'canaries.

Canaries? I thought better of you Jules. It'll have to be Egypt then. Or how about Eilat? Nice.

If the world of weather had any heart, it wouldn't be sunny at all over Christmas, I've seen Jack Frost and it's not fair on snowmen :pardon:

Be seriously how about going in a rocket and fly over to sun and eat marshmellows and candy :yahoo:

Marton Mere Blackpool is a second best :good:

We're going to Candolim, been before and it was great, nice and quiet....and more importantly, it'll be warm and ale will be very cheap.

Candolim's good, as is Sinquerim: less busy & dirty than Calangute.

I went to Kerala just south of Goa a couple of years ago and apparently have not stopped going on about it.

B?stard. Cochin is a particular holiday target of mine and you beat me to it.

No doubt, the spice bowl of India met with your approval then?

Just South?

I wouldn't like to walk it.

The food was out of this world, nowt like curries in the UK. A great place, wherever you go there's something go on, even if it's just cows walking down a main road with the traffic swerving round them or monkeys nicking something from a market stall.

There's a char wallah there who had a life changing experience with my sister in law. She wants me to look him up when I am over there to show him photos of the baby see how he's keeping.

Was just about to say the same....IMO Kerala pisses all over Goa. Fly yourself into Cochin or Trivandrum, just don't staying at either place long as there much better a short journey away. Munnar, Varkala, Kollam, Kannur, plus the Backwaters are just incredible. Just back from 3 weeks there and would recommend it to anyone.

Did a three week stint in Kerala, didn't stop raining from getting off the plane to getting back on, never again. Goa for me every time. I always stay in Cavalossim, south Goa, great area.

Did you do your research weather wise?..... Or were you just unlucky?

Was told " never had weather like this before " late November normally hot sunshine, just unlucky, even did the rice boat on the backwaters in the pissing rain. Did meet some great people, made the bars richer. But still the beaches and shacks of Goa for me.
