Beat Bahrain 2-1, drew 1-1 with the Aussies. Last group game, against India, today. They look likely to finish second behind Australia with a semi final appearance looking a shoo-in. Chungy has played every minute.

I think they win the group, will probably put 5 past India today.

I didn't want to say anything, because there are 'certain' people who would just think I'm being biased talking about my favourite player, but f'ck em, Lee is having a very good tournament so far for me and South Korea have been impressive, but then you have to look at their opponents and put things into perspective.

Perspective being: it's a shit tournament and he's found his level?

Didles, you have a very pro-Chung stance, yet I'm certainly not watching the Asian cup so any info or updates on our man is gratefully received by me

1) South Korea won this cup, and Chungy got the winner in the final and was lauded a hero the world over?

not sure if I want Lee to do well and get confidence with Korea or Korea do poor and Lee returns early.

 

This is what I posted in the other Asian Cup thread, Lee had a very good World Cup, but I'll even admit that he just had an average start to this season, so even if S.Korea win the comp, there's no guarantee we'll see Lee come back flying and high on confidence, he's not a break for a long time, so this Cup might make him more fatigued, I'm not sure.

 

I really would like to see us try summat different than Taylor or Petrov on the left, I'd like to see Lee and Moreno on each wing, Lee might not have had the best of seasons, compared to last season, but him and Holden are our main players to get the ball down and create stuff, plus he's got 6 assists and 2 goals, and he's been very good in some games[like Newcastle at home and Wolves away] but he's not been as consistent as We'd hope.

 

He seems to have more freedom when playing for Korea, but I think he's playing with more players who are technically good and play more to his style.

 

I'd rather have him back early if I'm honest, because S.Korea winning the Cup will have no effect me, because I'm not a fan of them, I'm only watching this comp because Lee is playing. But then I only watched the African Nations when we had Jay Jay etc.

to be fair i'll give you mark davies.

 

Its not just punting it long its ability on the ball i mean thus you can rule muamba out straight away as hes the most talentless midfielder in possession of the football in the division - however he usally does the breaking up well which is his role i suppose

Nobody has a go at you for being biased about a favourite player. Just that you never stop talking about him. Most is in jest anyway, don't take it to heart.

 

For the record, I don't think him having a great tournament is good for us. He's not been at the top of his game for Bolton for a few games; moments of good stuff but no consistency. He'll come back bollocksed and be in a similar position of moments of brilliance interspersed with long spells of dodging the ball.

 

All my opinion and doubtless different from yours but that's what this board is about.
