Cyl - Diddles

Featured Replies

So after last night does anyone think our workshy resident video producer maybe knows a bit more than we have given him credit for ?

It is more than a crush on CYL, Diddles knows his shit.

I think a lot rate him, they just don't bang on about him like he does or make videos. We know we have missed him, but earlier on in the season he still looked a bit light and apart from some key moments, didn't look as good as last season. Didn't go last night but from what people of said it was the same old shite so I wouldn't go worshipping the dog eater quite yet. Having said that, the dink into the middle he did last night showed great awareness and technique.

I hold my hands up; before he went away I thought CYL was good in flashes but went missing too often in games - I felt he wasn't quite ready to play ween in, week out....

Now I'm ready to admit we look like we've missed him rotten since he's been away

However, last night was at home against the team with the worst away record in the Prem

If CYL carries good form over the next few games, I'll fully admit Diddles was right

No issues with his work rate but think he lacks an end product.

However last night he seemed to have a big influence on the team.

Alright for a one off...

Having said that, the dink into the middle

Don't think you're allowed to call 'em that these days.

We've missed him for the fact that he gives us a bit of an outlet. He's a good player, but let's no go overboard.

Diddles is verging on being obsessed with the guy (as he said a few weeks ago when he said something along the lines of he goes hard and shakes and shudders when CYL scores) - the obsession can only be a bad thing. I think Diddles might end up gunning him down on the steps of the Reebok. Diddles = Mark Chapman

Wonder if he's got a signed photo then?

Even if Lee has a poor game, he still has his technique and skill to create something for the team, his awareness, creativity and team play is IMO the best in the squad.

That through ball for Matty Taylor last night was just pure class, who else could play that ball in our team? we don't have Xavi or Iniesta.

Lee will like playing with players like Holden and M.Davies, two players on his wavelength, contrasting players like K.Davies and M.Taylor will enjoy Lee in the team because they know he will try to find them and give them the ball.

Players like Knight like players K.Davies because it gives them an excuse for their hopeless long balls.

When we play like we did in November, Lee is great in a passing side, when we go all Megson/BSA style, then I understand why people say he may go missing, but I think that's because we try and play to K.Davies's strengths and completely miss out the midfield with the long balls and negative approach play.

think how good he could be if he had a rest!

If we had conceded a last minute goal instead of scoring one he would have been shite.

he has a decent amount of goals/assits for a right winger

he has skill and pace and can play a good ball in

what else can he need for his end product?

Oh here we go again!

Prior to his return, It is known that CYL had several opportunities to deliver a better quality of cross but instead took an extra touch or provided a poor delivery considering the opportunity given.

Games away at Burnley and Wigan are 'proven' examples.

Since he's been away other players have done the same including (god help me for saying this to Zico) Martin Petrov who's recent 'delivery success ratio' has been low.

However I hope they both plonk one on the head of Davis on Saturday

was refreshing to have him back, his first touch and vision is incredible

He can't play like messi every week. That's why he plays for Bolton. He gives us that little bit of guile and technique that we need. His first touch is brilliant compared to most of our team and we have definitely missed him.

Surely, he won't be playing on Saturday will he.

perhaps the head of Davies then?

so long as Taylor is included in that list too

been dog shit all year

but he tries god bless him

yep, apart from West Ham where delivery was good there have been several matches since where delivery has been poor.

Perhaps whilst some have commented on KD's poor performances it could be the service he is getting.

If the team is playing this rigid 4-4-2 formation then wide players need to deliver a better ball.

Question- Which player has the best ratio for successful delivery from wide areas?

how many goals have davies scored from crosses anyway?

is that due to the delivery or the fact he's not actually very good at attacking a ball in that manor?

i dont ever recall him actually running onto a header?

davies wins more possession by not actually winning the header, but by disrupting the defender(s) imo.

Davies' heading skills are for flicking the ball on.

He's also very good at aiming headers straight at the opposition keeper so he doesn't have to make a save.

To be fair it was the first one up and a set peice but yes he has. (even if it was a while ago.

Also take your point about him having stronger atributes which is true.

Finally and back to the thread I feel our delivery should improve to create more chances for our front players in the box.

Answer on delivery to success ratio is Robbo
