27,000

Official website says we are taking 'close to 27,000' to Wembley on Sunday.

Full respect to all 27,000 of them - it should probably be more, and we'll be outnumbered, but if we win, we won't care!

My theory is that our gloryhunting fans peaked at the Cardiff & european games ,but now the novelty of football has worn off for them ,they won't appear for a game against Stoke. On the other ha

So we've less part timers than them.

Its 2000 more than I expected we would take and 34K against 27K is not that much more.

We will be alreet. :drinks:

More than we took for the Villa game which apparently was only 24K

Let's put things into perspective.

The populations of Bolton and Stoke appear to be broadly similar BUT:

Premiership teams within a 30 mile radius-

Bolton: Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn, Wigan

Stoke: None

Don't we get about 27K if we get to the f****? So its dead simple everyone who goes to the semi is guaranteed a f**** ticket and the season ticket holders who couldn't be arsed going on Sunday miss out.

Its also about 10,000 more than Blackburn took to their semi in Cardiff in 2005.

Well said!

Will he be down the dole office in Bolton on Monday morning then?

I think the point you make is central to our crowd-pulling issues. I also believe that the 1980s being a lost generation on the pitch led to a lost generation of fans off it, and we still feel the effects of that. By which I mean loads of lads my age (late 30s) supported Liverpool or the Rags back in 80s and still do.

The only thing that maters, is getting to the Semi!

Anyone who tries to take the piss, are just jealous, so fook em !

I never really liked Everton - but that is a very good point, well made !! :good:

dissapointing but not arsed

but lets be honest, had it been anyone else we'd have mocked, particulary if it were Wigan

We wont get allocated anywhere near 27K for the Final (should we get there). Your looking at more like 19K/20K

You get 22k for the final.

Can be a nighmare, but you cant please everyone !

Personally, I think Utd or City should get more than us for the final.

As a club, once again we've let ourselves down.

27K is pretty poor IMO.

You get 22k for the final.

22K should be more than enough for the final, the fact it's nearly double the amount of ST's that we've got shows that

I very much doubt there have ever been or ever will be 27,000 Wigan Athletic fans in any one stadium to watch Wigan Athletic.

A 27,000 following to Wembley for Bolton is disappointing. To Wigan it would be stratospheric.

Why do people think we should get a massive following. We are not a big club and do not have a large fan base

I suppose people think it'd be nice to fill the end to show the players our support but to be honest if those who don't want to go don't then it's their decision.

I would hope that those not going because they don't agree with it being at Wembley will not be watching it on the telebox though.

I agree

Why do people think 27,000 is 'disappointing'? We've never had more than around 25,000 supporters in my lifetime. We've never taken more than that to a cup semi-final or play-off final (with the possible exception of the Watford game) Our support is often boosted for the big games by people who don't really support the club but they're not going to spend the best part of ?100 travelling down to London for a game they can see on telly. There's probably a sizeable number fo Boltonians who are more interested in the other semi-final.

Yeah that's a cracking idea. So those who are going to their second game since Boro at Cardiff get one over a season ticket holder who cannot make it for one reason or another.
