Official website says we are taking 'close to 27,000' to Wembley on Sunday.

Full respect to all 27,000 of them - it should probably be more, and we'll be outnumbered, but if we win, we won't care!

The FA has confirmed ticket prices for this year's FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on 14 May.

 

Both finalists will receive 25,000 tickets with prices ranging from ?45 through to ?115.

 

Remaining tickets are taken up by Club Wembley, the football family and volunteers from grassroots football clubs across the country.

Who then flog them off at inflated prices. I mean have you seriously ever seen a Cup Final crowd that was obviously 50% "neutral"?? It's a farce...FA bods and volunteers from around the country should be "rewarded" with England tickets rather than club games. They clearly don't use them

Surely the Club's ticket system can identify season ticket holders, the club and lifeline members and those who have regularly (is this 5, 10 +) purchased tickets. I'd be staggered if this was more than 25,000.

Why do people think 27,000 is 'disappointing'? We've never had more than around 25,000 supporters in my lifetime. We've never taken more than that to a cup semi-final or play-off final (with the possible exception of the Watford game) Our support is often boosted for the big games by people who don't really support the club but they're not going to spend the best part of ?100 travelling down to London for a game they can see on telly. There's probably a sizeable number fo Boltonians who are more interested in the other semi-final.

Quite a few times inthe late seventies and eighties weve had over 30000 and a couple of times ver 40000 against sunderland and everton in another semi final.as for your thinking on boltonians watching the other game well they can all piss off down south with all the rest of the scum.

Late 70s we did have the 2 crowds over 40k and a handful of plus 30k these were the exceptions I am pretty sure we have not had a plus 30k crowd after 1980. At the end of the day we are what we are and despite an unbelievable last 20 years the town is sadly apathetic to the great club it is lucky to have, thankfully we have Eddie Davies who continues to support the club allowing the few thousand loyal Bolton fans to watch world class players.

Had the stadium capacity been 30,000 or more I suspect our average would have been higher in some of those seasons (I have 03/4 and 04/5 in mind in particular). There have been several games with capacity crowds of around 27,300 and with a bigger stadium those gates could easily have been larger.

 

The club certainly needs to work hard on sustaining the support base. As people have said, we're encircled by fellow Premier League clubs and we're very unlucky that two sides who would otherwise be lower league fodder (Blackburn/Wigan) found mega-rich owners. The club can't take support for granted within Bolton's traditional geographical support base as used to be possible before 80s. (traditional support base including far more than Bolton - Westhoughton, Atherton, Tyldesley, Leigh, Walkden, Chorley, Wigan etc etc)

If you think Villa fans were bad you better prepare for the Stoke fans, there will be no love lost with them.

This is the problem, moving forward, we should be looking to merge with both Blackburn and Wigan, we could rename to Lancashire WAR (Wanderers, Athletic & Rovers) - we could then start to chellenge the bigger clubs around us as we could probably command crowds of c50K each week

a good point, and with us and Preston having a white kit already, it would be majority rules, so we could keep playing in white. The name would have to change to Lancashire WARP though.

Thanks for the history lesson. I was actually at the Sunderland game when we had nearly 43,000 on. Those fixtures are the exception. In the two home games prior to that one we had 18,000 on.

But those averages also include visiting supporters. The only season were we might have needed a bigger stadium to accommodate our own support was probably 03/04. Not sure you can say the same about 04/05 when we barely averaged 26,000. One season from a whole decade doesn't really prove that the potential is there.

My understanding is that the block 143, next to the club wembley and dug out area were reserved for BWFC staff and family.

I expect about 28000 to be supporting Bolton on Sunday.

Don't we get about 27K if we get to the f****? So its dead simple everyone who goes to the semi is guaranteed a f**** ticket and the season ticket holders who couldn't be arsed going on Sunday miss out.

 

But the season ticket holders who can't be arsed on Sunday have probably already got a ticket for the semi (my two kids have, other people will be using their tickets for the semi).

My theory is that our gloryhunting fans peaked at the Cardiff & european games ,but now the novelty of football has worn off for them ,they won't appear for a game against Stoke.

On the other hand ,Stoke think this is their biggest game for years & will have lots of "fans " who think going to the football involves dressing up like a christmas tree . At least there'll be a lot more embarrassing sights in their support than ours.

 

As for our "only going to the final "fans, these are mostly the same bullshitters who pretended they didn't go because of Megson, now they're waiting for the final & then it 'll be that they couldn't get a ticket.Anyone who can't get off their arse or out of the pub to support the team at a Wembley semi final should stop trotting out excuses & admit that they'll never return to live football.

 

Our ticket sales are disappointing but it only proves that Stoke have more part-timers than us !!

Was there when it kicked off there; 50 - 60 villa were approaching with hundreds of whites outside - it got a little naughty banter before some Bolton ran the Villa lot. One villa fan ran off leaving his small son crying in the middle of both sets of fans; had to run in pick him up and take him into the Villa fans. I give his dad a real bollocking the coward.

 

Dont think it will kick off Sunday; it might saturday night though if there are still munichs about.
