April 24, 201115 yr Author just turned over, saw a white screen saying bolton won the final 2-0 (words to that effect), saw best bits then Exactly, they can nick our fanbase but they cannot take that away from us, it makes me proud to be a Wanderer.
April 24, 201115 yr whatever any some of our moronic band of supporters might think, that side so tragically wiped out on Munich airfield in 1958, was arguably one of the best club sides this country has ever known. Quite how people still get off in glorifying it still horrifies me. RIP the babes
April 24, 201115 yr It only showed the Wanderes from behind walking down the tunnel, wearing the wrong kit.

RIP the babes Not read anyone doing that on this thread Moreso celebrating our last FA Cup win Over our greatest "enemy" Depleted or not
April 24, 201115 yr I think you miss the point, shropshire. How dare we win the cup that year. How dare we celebrate it. How dare we have a procession etc etc My father in law still has a scar he could show you if you want to discuss moronic fans.
April 24, 201115 yr That looks like an O.G. EDIT, just rewound and zoomed in, goal COHEN! Edited April 24, 201115 yr by Didledee

Quite how people still get off in glorifying it still horrifies me. RIP the babes No right minded person can celebrate the loss of life so tragic, however I prefer to concentrate on the glory Nat and the Bolton team gave our fans that day, let us not forget the Bolton players were stoned as they passed through Salford. I know there fans have not changed from that day, they still loathe us for that result, they think we should have laid down for them. Fook em.
April 24, 201115 yr Like I've said before, I could never bring myself to disrespect innocent people who died, I could never call them Munich, take the piss out of their tragedy, but I s'pose everyone's different.
April 25, 201115 yr I don't think I've missed the point at all. I Love the fact that Nat won the Cup for us that year despite everyone in the country wanting United to win. I'm proud to be a Wanderer just like everyone else who subscribes to this board. But watching that programme brought home to me the horrors of Feb 6 1958. Yet some Bolton fans - quite a few in fact - seem to take glory from the tragedy. Lets say for instance, the plane coming back from Schalke on Tuesday crashes. Ferdinand, Vidic, Nani, Giggs, Valencia, Rooney, Hernandez & Berbatov are all killed. Anyone on here seriously think they would 'celebrate' such an event? Maybe the younger ones are brought up with it I don't know?

April 25, 201115 yr There is an intelligent argument, which I subscribe to, that emphasises the repetitive nature of referencing 1958 as a great, tremendous, groundbreaking year for BWFC and similarly the traditional dislike for all things "united", again which I go along with , having had tales from our great generations of the past re tell stories of the stoned bus in Walkden and the national dislike against our team that year. And subsequently the bandwagon for the urinals down the road has veered out of control picking up casual, armchair, glory hunting morons. However this point of view is dwarfed in my opinion by the completely unintelligent opinion which focuses on the loss of life and the runway chants which are sick, vile and unacceptable. I hope its only a matter of time before these chants are outdated and quite rightly like racist chants left in a time best forgotten. I am embarrased when I see and hear these chants and see them being passed on to the younger generation. I hope most Bolton fans are great and proud enough to follow our team and have rivalries without descending to sick and vile chants which mock the loss of life.
April 25, 201115 yr The AIG sponsored 50th anniversary was up there with the first ideas MUFCplc have had.
April 25, 201115 yr They built a billion dollar world famous club from it and left survivors and deceased relatives to live on handouts and selling medals. Thats far worse than anything I could ever sing. Fuck 'em. Edited April 25, 201115 yr by Smiffs

Fair point, and very well made. How would we feel if other teams "fans" made up songs about the 1946 Burnden disaster taking the piss out of the 33 fans who perished? Same thing in my eyes.
April 25, 201115 yr More sick that singing songs about performing oral sex on your sister? United's usual song when playing any of the NW town teams. Not for me it isn't, that's the product of one seriously fucked up mind. Swings and roundabouts.
