Maggie Tate Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Golden is a fairly ordinary one. It's called all different things around the country though. There is a WWays contributor who drinks (or did a few years ago anyway) Guinness and lime
Big City Girl Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 The weirdest I've heard are: Red wine and soda Blackcurrant and coke Malibu and milk

DazBob Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 What about Brandy AND Baileys? Surely that's the only way Bailey's should be drank.
no balls Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Surely that's the only way Bailey's should be drank. Not when it's my round it's not!

no balls Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Did you just say that mixing lager and bitter in the same glass is "ordinary" ?? In the same way as a pint of mixed is normal. Even I think it's "normal". & thanks, Ashey
wackerchackers Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 We went to a music festival a few years ago. I'd taken a box of red wine along with the usual cans of cider. A mate of mine had taken a litre bottle of vodka. After the cider had been polished off, we started drinking "vodka wines". Classy!
DazBob Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 In the same way as a pint of mixed is normal. Even I think it's "normal". I thought better of you. "Mixed" rings a bell. Is that mild and bitter?
no balls Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I thought better of you. "Mixed" rings a bell. Is that mild and bitter? Tis. One doesn't forget their roots and on a Monday night before payday a pint of Castle & Tetley Mild & a few games of pool was better than stopping in sulking. BCG will be on later I'm sure to advise on the night I went out with ?2.50 and woke up the next day after an 8 hour binge with a fiver and a half eaten kebab staring at me (& no clever comments about it being badly packed, thank you). That's class is that.
aberwhite Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 In the early '70s Aussie white wine and cider was a popular tipple in Yates Wine Lodge on Bradshawgate. Maybe it still is.
Maggie Tate Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 A lot of people seemed to sup Golden when I first started turning out, this is 12 years ago. They call it Mickey Mouse in the Midlands. I think the bitter goes in first, can't remember, but to put the wrong one in first, whichever it is, is tantamount to beverage vandalism. Owd folk still sup mixed in Leigh, there's also Guinness and mild mix but that's nothing short of subversive.
