And all the way through his ranting he kept saying what he wanted was to play for Newcastle. think he started his rants after they sold Nolan and wouldn't offer him a big contract, which apparently they promised them both certainly if playing for Newcastle long term was his goal, he went about it in the wrong way call my cynical but I think he knew what he was doing when he starting accusing the board of lying and stuff in the public domain

Thered been little sign if the Carroll money being invested in the club. Since then there's still little money spent even with the additional Nolan and Enrique cash. He went about it in the wrong way but was speaking his mind. yep agree with all that they both wanted to stay, but didn't, so were both looking for a deal elsewhere seems to me Barton didn't want to stick around for one more year whilst Carroll, Nolan, Enrique etc were jumping ship (or leaving if you prefer) so engineered a quick(er) way out which so far hasn't materialised, no surprise really apparently he said no to QPR already once
