to be fair, i was very critical of his selection of eagles on the left (i probably would be again, but up against a carthorse like huth, it was a masterstroke)

 

and the internet critics wouldn't have played 4-4-2

Fair points. I'm certainly one of them who wouldn't have opted for 4-4-2.

 

There's a few, not me though, who said they hope never to see Klasnic in a Bolton shirt again too.

Switching Eagles from right to left to put him against Huth was one of the first signs that Coyle or his back room staff actually thought about tactics for a match.

 

I for one wouldn't complain if he changed a winning team next week again to suit the opposition.

im not convinced petrov wouldnt have done the same thing to huth.

 

and considering huth doesnt get forward anyway, there would be no need for petrov to track back either.

Aye but it's all about context isn't it. Who we were playing; which of those things he tried at the same time or in isolation etc

Whilst OC should get the plaudits for Sunday that's going a bit far as we have no idea that was the case....he'd switched Eagles and Petrov previously without success and we don't know he was "picking" on Huth....especially as running up to the game most pundits didn't think Huth would be playing there.

I think that fans think they know best, that can be seen by reading some of the utter drivel posted on here over the past two months. Every now and then, the fans can see what the pundits can't. The pundits do not follow a single club day-in-day-out like fans of a club do. Tony Pulis had played Huth at fullback before, and a lot of fans had a feeling he'd do the same again. Like a lot of fans on here could see him playing Robinson every game when they thought it was a bad idea.
