Mark Davies To Hull?

That's a strange one

Featured Replies

is it not Sean Davies ?? apparently we have a player with that name..

you're just making stuff up now!

Sean Davis?

The name does ring a bell.

Apparently he played for Portsmouth, but retired in 2009.

It'll be Kevin Davies for a nominal fee.

If the price is right, he can fuck off.

IMO, he isn't good enough.

Well at least I know I can ignore your opinion on most things now. Thanks :)

I don't mind Mark Davies as a player.

The only reason I wouldn't mind him going to Hull is that I wouldn't have to read on here that he is called "Mavies"

bugs me

Mavies (just for Jazza :innocent: ) is a decent footballer

He's not provided end product as often as he should have - that's for sure, bue he's been in and out of the team and played in a couple of different roles

He's come back in as right midfield into a struggling team, so it can't have been easy

As I've said elsewhere I think he's a bit poor in terms of decision making, but I'm hoping that will come - he's harly helped by what he's had around him - many players have been hiding - not showing for the ball and our movement overall off the ball is dreadful

But our best moves have been him or Petrov playing it in to Ngog and/or Klasnic and thenm moving off the ball back or the strikers' combinations

For me he's our best player on the right of a 4-4-2....marginally ahead of Eagles at the moment

It's been said somewhere that he's a bit "thick"; maybe that's his problem, but I think he needs structured coaching that none of our players appear to get

Wanting shut of him right now is crackers

he will certainly play for a club a lot bigger than bolton wanderers.

Oh here we go....

:D

Oh here we go....

exactly

on the basis of nothing more than hope

we've been waiting 3 years

Tamir Cohen has more assists and goals than him for us in less games.

Tamir Cohen

yet everyone creams over his creativity

hes got all the technical ability in the world

does fuck all with it though

but no one can forget his debut against spurs(think it was them) or the wonder team goal he scored against Blackpool

Stats can prove anything

Take the "Phil Neville's medal haul proving what a better player he is than many" one for a start

Do you seriously think that Mark Davies is worse than Tamir Cohen?

You've had a bee in your bonnet about Davies for a while now, but he seems more effective as a "midfielder" (it's not just about creativity) than Eagles....though I'd say there's not currently much in it......so who would you play on the right of a 4-4-2, which we all know is OC's favoured (only maybe) formation

Yes Hull :shifty:

He's a decent player in amongst a lot of shit at the club.

think he would be better in a 3 man midfield with 2 grafters but to play that you need a striker that can play up top on his own. Unfortunatly I dont think we have that.

When he plays on the right he goes missing to often leaving us relying on the left wing.

Im using basic stats (goals and assists), comparing like for like

Several people have said hes our most creative player/missing link between the midfield and strikers etc etc. Goals and more importantly assists are vital to that

they've played in the same team, in the same position at different times under the same manager(s)

No I don't think Cohen is a better player, do I think he is more creative taking nothing else into account, then yes I would.

ive already explained i have a bee in my bonnet about him because we are bottom of the league and its everyone elses fault bar Mark Davies. He's probably been criticized less than anyone in our team (in fact I might have been the first) and thats not because hes been out best player.

If you are telling me hes not a creative midfielder and he is just a bog standard midfielder then I agree with you?

As for who id play on the right it would be Eagles every time. (im not even a fan of eagles)

he would be 1st backup in centre mid after muamba and reo choker(thats someone i have a bee in my bonnet about)

Mavies would be a bench player and he can have his influence on the game in the last 30 minutes when needed.

Fuck knows what he does when Chungy and Holden come back

I think he has dodged criticism and he's not been a leading light, but then who has?

He's a midfielder who has the talent to be "creative" and yes people hang on a few things he's done; but I don't think it's his fault - it's that nobody else has offered that hope in glimmers with the exception of Eagles

Moving nicely on to Eagles......I think Mark Davies gives us more balance in the right midfield, I really do. But Eagles has contributed more telling moments this season. If we were flying high I'd probably play Eagles, but we're not and I think Davies is a more pragmatic choice

Sits on the bench I guess. He's getting his opportunity to cement a place ahead of them in the team but I have to agree with you that he's not taking it.

I guess the difference is I think he could still do it and make it and I guess you don't. That seems fair enough; I guess the only real disagreement here and now is Eagles or M Davies......neither are currently proven for me; I guess the jury is out?

West Brom - ?4 Million

I'd agree if you put him in the same team stelios was in I'd pick him over stelios all day long.

Having said that I'd probably have stelios in for a relegation scrap but i think i know what i mean - good player wrong time?

Stelios over Mavies every day of the week for me

Technically Mavies would be better but Stelios had the intelligence and that got him in the right places at the right times. Scored a few for us because of it.

Enzo Gamberro has it right, he can't shoot so should dribble the ball into the goal ina Sensible Soccer style.
