What Broke My Heart

Watching the game tonight I noticed that the once great Kevin Davies is a mere shadow of the legend that we have all come to admire over what is close to a decade. He didn't win half of the balls he went up for and more so than ever looked like he was used as a rotation player that is saved for cup games.

You will always be one of my favourite Bwfc players but tonight convinced me that your days at our club are numbered!

totally agree

I'm surprised some are just seeing it, been evident for quite some time, once your legs go that's it, it's sad I know, but that's football unfortunately.

Unfortunately if we can see it so can other clubs, so who's going to want to flog a dead horse? ( sorry kev you have been great)

Heard last weekend that his house was up for sale. Maybe someone has belief in him?

agreed, time to move on Kevin, dont become a laughing stock please.

Off to the states apparently YHIHF.

I agree with everyone, at times over the past 8 yrs or so hes lead the line alone always wore his heart on his sleeve and i think thats what the fans appreicated of him, but he looks like he will only be a bit part player and a massive question mark over will he get a contract for next season. He deserves to be remembered on what he done for the club in previous seasons - not this one.

remember, yes

offerered a contract, no

Yeh, great player and has served us well but unfortunately we need pace up top. The old routine of lumping it to him has been found out by teams and they know how to play him out of the game.

If we do keep playing him I think he should be dropping back a bit now and work more as an attacking midfielder providing headers and flick ons for ngog/klasnic/tuncay.

Reckon he might be worth another year if we do drop to the championship though

maybe he`s pissed off and not on top of his game?

Pissed off with what?

Pissed off with what?

Early mid-life crisis!

Wish I had his reasons for being pissed off.

I think he is pissed off and hurt because he knows he can no longer play to the standard he once did

he probably hates the ice bath hence his legs are fooked

I'm sure that's part of it. Doesn't stop him rolling up his sleeves and showing some passion and committment- behaving like a captain.

I haven't seen much this season, but by all accounts he's not done this. He's never scored a lot but always been a shoe in; this has changed.

Perhaps he could ask for a free transfer or just retire, but while he's being paid thousands a week, why would he?

Nooo way! He has never been great with the ball at feet and this season has been even worse. An attacking midfielder needs to be the link man between the midfield and attack, tidy on the ball, comfortable with the ball at feet, have the ability to run at the man, and most importantly be able to pick a pass (M.Davies is the closest we've got to this fit at the moment), K.Davies has none of this.

He's been and still is a hero to the club, but for me the rest of this season he should only be used as a last 10-15 minutes different option up top when all else fails, and he shouldn't be offered a contract whether we stay up or go down.

The club needs to move on and find a new way to play, with Davies up top it is far too easy for players just to lump it up to him which in the past was fairly effective because he would win the header and or hold the ball up, but now it just comes straight back at us.

Oh and Reo Coker should now be club captain.

He must know his days are numbered so it must hurt him to realise that he's still making more efford for less reward than Klasnic and Ngog.

Always makes me laugh that whenever a footballer puts his house up for sale it means they are going to leave the club

Fuckin' hell, he's been like that since half way through last season!!

he probably hates the ice bath hence his legs are fooked

Watch out, if NB sees this there'll be a riot!

Think I've just died and gone to heaven

The bus has definately pulled up for our Kev it's just a case whether he jumps on it himself or he's pushed up the steps.

I have to say though that he has never been the greatest footballer and what assests he did have were used and exploited by our once class players this is a piss poor team so i think that's highlighting Kev's actual lack of footballing talent and in the cold light of day an average player in a poor team whether he trys his hardest wears his heart on his sleeve or whatever is still an average player in a poor team - harsh but true
