April 17, 201214 yr Only 2nd that one, beaten by a neck! Here's Tuesday's candidate for the glue factory: http://www.geegeez.co.uk/stat-of-the-day-17th-april-2012/ I've gone ?10 on the napper @ 5/2, fingers crossed It's gone to 6/4 on. Bet365 Edited April 17, 201214 yr by Breightmet Boy
April 17, 201214 yr It'll be around 9/4 with Rule 4 applied. Just in case you'd set that ?2.50 aside for a pint later.
April 17, 201214 yr Travelled well enough through the race but the leaders stole a couple of lengths turning in and he never really looked like picking up. I thought he ran as if something was amiss when push came to shove but he might just be that he's not entirely straightforward. Another small gain for the place only crew.
April 17, 201214 yr Came 2nd, started to attack Kingaroo far too late. Nevermind, there's always tomorrows
April 17, 201214 yr Author Decent meeting starts at Newmarket tomorrow. I'll be having a couple of bets there, no doubt. I really fancy Lily's Angel in the 4.10: I've taken 12/1 (BOG) E/W with bet 365, looks a good price to me.
April 17, 201214 yr Author PS Sportinglife seem to like it too. http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=racing/12/04/17/manual_183222.html&BID=465
April 17, 201214 yr I like your confidence Traf, she has been bouncing on the gallops and has also grown a bit more since last year. Her biggest test to date, I'm sure she can do enough to warrant a Guineas run(most likely French). I will be down there tomorrow willing her on, a nervous feckin wreck n'all.
April 17, 201214 yr Author I think the French Guineas is a likely destination, providing it goes well tomorrow. Why, though, will you be a nervous wreck?
April 17, 201214 yr Why, though, will you be a nervous wreck? Perhaps he suffers from an anxiety disorder?!
April 17, 201214 yr I think the French Guineas is a likely destination, providing it goes well tomorrow. Why, though, will you be a nervous wreck? Because I own a share in her, don't get me wrong I'm buzzin at the moment and can't wait to get down there. Something kicks in though in those final few minutes when they are going behind.
April 17, 201214 yr Author Fair play to you, There's a good chance of picking some prize money up tomorrow. Beware the Al Zarooni horses, though.
April 17, 201214 yr I hope your right, I am hoping that the Newmarket big guns will be a bit behind or even better not trained on! Fahey is very happy with Lily, but then again he thought that Wootton Bassett was the real macoy last season. It will either be a very long train journey home tomorrow or drunk and dreaming of a Longchamp trip. BTW, she is now 9-1 on bet365. Edited April 17, 201214 yr by Baron Bartrum
April 17, 201214 yr Author FWIW, I also thought that Wootton Bassett would have a great season last time around, especially after its debut season. Lilys Angel is still 10's with Skybet and they're paying 1/4 odds for a place.
April 18, 201214 yr Author Wednesday's SotD is here: http://www.geegeez.co.uk/stat-of-the-day-18th-april-2012/
April 18, 201214 yr great start to the day, backed hillbilly boy at 8/1 at 1.40 bev, gubbed on the line at 1.01 in running
April 18, 201214 yr second race for me 2.0 Chel Bold Chief gubbed in the last few strides 1/8 on in-running isn't life great?
April 18, 201214 yr Zurich, were you on SotD to place? It's got your M.O. all over it! Nah Enzo, I put 3 units on the winner just as they left the stalls, I got 1 unit matched but it shortened from 3.3 to 2.66 in less than half a furlong for some reason so I cancelled the other 2 units. And 1 unit on the CD horse Rowans something or other. Defeat even in victory! I tend to back 2 or 3 horses in a race, 1 hard fancy and 2 saver bets, I don't see a lot of value in e/w stakes unless it's a horse 10/1 upwards trading at 2/1 a place.
