Nicely done for all those on it tonight.

Just like I said to BB the other night, just because they drift in the market doesn't mean they can't or won't win.

Tonight's came in at 12/1. :D

You dancer

  • Yes, MT, I follow the Oirish too.   But I'm at Bangor all day tomorrow, then on the lash in Wrexham! But, if I get chance, I'll find some pointers for you and shove them on here on Sunday.   But,

How can an 11/1 shot in a field of that size be 2/1 to be placed?! Now I know how Betfair makes its money!

  • If you took those stats from Mal's piece, that'll be over the last two years, mate.

Cheers, mate.

Seriously, though: without banging on about it: that SotD feature is decent stuff.

I don't do it all the time: I split the workload with Matt, he'll be doing Sunday's pick and then he'll be in the chair for a fortnight from next Saturday.

He knows far more than I do about the horses, but we both spend a fair bit of time to pick just one horse.

We do have losing runs and we're very open and honest about that.

New 2:10 Seven Woods (TBP) @ 1.55

Aye, I expect this one to win fairly comfortably: I've got 3pts on it to win.

Completely forgot about it Traf. Where's that head banging against the wall smiley?

Just read the Grand National write up, C. Very good. :good:

Cheers.

Matt's work, though, not mine!

I've had a dabble on all three of today's and a cheeky treble :)

Woo Hoo.

Nice one C

Top work again Traf.

Gutted Im missing out on all of these as I've decided to take a break from gambling after having a nightmare at Cheltenham!

Just back from Wolverhampton: I've had better evenings.

Bangor tomorrow.

Anyone follow the Irish scene at all? Our peg and I will be at Downpatrick on Sunday and if anyone can pick any out, it'd be good to hear them

We were called going to Dundalk tonight but that work thing got in the way :angry2:

But, if I don't get much sorted for you: trainers to follow are EJ O'Grady (especially hurdlers), Noel Meade (hurdlers) & Gordon Elliott (also hurdlers).

There are no standout trainers over the chase course.

Prohibition: 5.20 Lingfield on Friday.

According to the owners, they're fully expecting a big run to follow up last Friday's 20/1 win in an apprentice handicap.

The horse ran much better than they'd expected under Amy Scott and had already booked Kieran Fallon for the next ride.

He drops back to a mile on Friday, which will suit him and he'll be running 4lbs lighter than last week with a better jockey on.

It won't be a great price, but worth a punt IMO.

There you go, folks.

Advice on a Monday morning about a Friday evening winner at 5/2: happy days! :D

He was favourite as expected and Hanagan prduced him at just the right time.

I've just taken some of the 7/4 (BOG) on offer from bet365 for Apothecary in the 7.10 at Wolverhampton on Friday night.

And don't forget that Prohibition (from post #1 of this thread!) runs in the 5.20 Lingfield: current best price is 11/4 (also with bet365)

As I've just mentioned: Prohibition won.

Apothecary was 2nd, beaten by a short head, but was hampered enough to have lost the race (IMO!). The horse first past the post should have been disqualified and we'd have had the winner.

My Stat of the Day pick today runs in the 8.40 at Wolverhampton.

http://www.geegeez.c...3rd-march-2012/

Disappointing is the best word to describe this one: when it mattered, the horse had no extra and finished 3rd.

Overall of the 3 I put up on here today: A winner backed at 11/4, a 2nd and a 3rd.

Small overall profit of 0.75pts as 3 singles.

NO MULTIPLES!

Point taken :sorry: , still made a 20% profit though

Fair enough.

Not strong advice, but I do like the look of Florafern today in the 2.40 Newbury, but Pricewise likes it too, so it's already gone from 14/1 to 11/1: small E/W punt for me.

Similalrly small punt on Kentmere Grey Lady to win the same race: currently 9/2.

otherwise, a quiet day.

Reet, I'm off to Bangor now. (the place, not a euphemism!)

both nun runners in case anyone backed them and just checked the winners

Ruby Walsh looks to have good rides at Downpatrick, where I shall be with an ice cream within the hour. Crackin flags. News says this is the first sunny Sunday in March Northern Ireland has seen since 1690.
