List Of Things In Your Life You Really Regret

Following on from something I posted in t' footballing bit of this site, are there any things in your list of things you really regret that you'd be happy to share?

My regret is only ever doing one Euro away with my family. I went to Madrid but really ought to have done a few others.

It also slipped my mind to tell my wife, on our wedding day, that she looked stunning*. Don't get me wrong, she did scrub up ok but I forgot to tell her. She still reminds me every now and again.

*Note to future grooms, make sure you tell her.

Not answering the phone to my best mates last call before he died from choking on his own vomit 4 hours later.

He had a massive row with his pregnant fiance, and his parents, stormed out and phoned me on his way to the pub.i didnt ansewer because I was going into work.then didnt have any credit to ring him back.after a gallon in the pub he made his way to some local scrotes house to seek solice in the bottle and various other narcotics.drank that much he passed out and choked to death.

If only id of ansewerd the call.he would be the father of a 8 year old little boy now.

Not spending more time with my mate Tommy from Cov, he passed away 5yrs ago today in a house fire.

Used to go my Grandma's for tea once a week. Called her 1 week as I couldnt be arsed after a shit day at 6th form. She died that night.

sometimes regret that I didn't work at school

Not seeing my old fella the day before he went into hospital in November.

Therefore not being able to tell him I loved him before he was too ill to really know when I did

I regret choosing alcohol over my wife

but my biggest regret in life is saying I wouldn't go to see my mate Andy when he called me pissed at 9.30pm on a Saturday night while I was sober and home with my then fiancee, even though he virtually pleaded. He killed himself 2 hours later. I'll never forgive myself and it finished my relationship with fiancee too

1 thing, and im not guna post it.

I remember saying years ago that life is too short for regrets.

I was wrong.

With hindsight and maturity I have a few. I don't want to talk about them on here, but one that I can includes not going to a dear friends funeral.

Oh and joining here obvs.

Many, but you can't rewrite or change the past. I've learnt to be thankful for the things in life I don't regret.

By the way, I'm half pissed after a tea timer, so maybe I'l think different sober :)

Not as deep or profound as some of the above, but had the chance to go working in Antarctica for 8 months when I was 22, thought about it, and thought "nah, f?ck it, miss he match and drinking with the lads too much" etc so declined the offer.

really ,really regret that immature decision now

That's a good one! Although the 22 year old you probably wouldn't have appreciated it at the time.

Oh and living near to BCG, no good has ever come of that :)

Exactly, then, Antarctica was a cold place with no football, pubs or women. just rocks and ice (in my imagination anyway) and the thought of fixing machinery out in them temps filled me with dread, so bottled it really

Fuck you. You moved and you're still at the bottom of my street! Boomerang!!!

And when we were kids, my parents moved house, from further up to lower down the road to you. That was pathetic and not my doing!

You're like a weird magnet. Nob!

And now Bea is here. Come on little children...

LOLLIPOPS!!!

Choosing not to see my grandad in hospital the night he passed away.

Can't remember what game it was, we'd got dicked at the Reebok and i wanted to just get pissed. Said id go in the morning, he passed away that night after 3 months in hospital.

I never went seeing my dad for three weeks in his home, he has dementia and wanders off after a half a hour of chatting. The funny thing is I was a bit down in the third week and didn't know what was causing it, after my visit seeing him my guilt lifted and I was back to my chirpy self :)

Nice wine on special offer at Sainsburies last week, shouldve bought some.

Never prolong an agony/dont flog a dead horse. The horse is dead and thats that. Its not suddenly going to become a foal again.

Send it to the glue factory straight away.

Ride a new horse.

We live in a triangle, NB/BCG/Bea , thats why stuff goes wrong/goes missing, its the Bermuda triangle of Horwich.

Reading some of the earlier answers I felt the thread had kind of overstepped the voyeuristic mark a bit. Thanks Bea, you've made me realise it hasn't.

I have many regrets

The main one being choosing beer and football over my wife at home

Last match at Burnden was on a Friday night.

I was in my late teens and Friday night was town and stinky fingers night.

Fucked off at the final whistle.

What a dick.
