It was a needed thing to do!

Lochinver

And the Assynt area

Spectacular scenery

Isolated

But decent food and drink

Friendliest folks that I've met

Aye. The scenery on the north west scotland coast is amazing. And so remote its hard to believe it's part of the same nation.

To be honest, youre onto a winner anywhere in Scotland north of Stirling. Apart from the JoG area, found that very dreary and bleak.

My personal favourite place is Skye. The Cuillin Hills are a fantastic, magical place.

did somebody do ribby hall?

How can going to Preston be classed as going away?

Don't know if it's been mentioned but Green Dragon campsite at Hardraw is lovely. England's highest unbroken waterfall on the back and a proper old country pub at the front! Lovely.

Train, Horwich to Preston to Lytham, job's a good un for our lot :D

Would never go away in England as main holiday it's good if you get the weather but brutal if you don't. And for camping in a tent is that suppose to be pleasurable? For the record I don't want to stay anywhere that is less luxurious than my home.

I loved camping until I went with my bird last year in Cornwall. Shit weather, a broke tent, a spazzed wrist (me) and how she failed to have anything broken was a minor miracle!

My advice; never camp with your missus!

Where were you camping?

Imagine getting up for a piss in the middle of the night half asleep!

don't BBQ in your tent.

Off here with the missus in May, i know its veggie but it looks top notch.

Twas belting, anyone fancying a get away from it all type place this would be top of my recommendations.

Just going for a wander round the hotel grounds reminded me how ace Britain is.

Camping this weekend. Due to piss it down, joy.

how are hooks they hang off fixed?

bit tricky carrying a 110v SDS up there!

No more nails.

Anyone camped at Gordale Scar? Been there today. Think there were only 2 tents pitched. Looked remote. Can't imagine the facilities being up to much. But the scenery is awesome.

Camped there a few times.

Facilities extend to bogs, showers and a pot washing sink.

They were basic but clean, that said it's been a while since i stayed.

Beezely farm just north of Ingleton. Some great walks along the rivers.
