City's goal diff is 6 better than United's. If City win by 1 on Monday their's will be 8 better. Therefore goal difference is hugely in City's favour. If Monday's is a drawn match goal diff is unlikely to be material. If United win by less than 8 goal diff can only favour City if they are level on points. City may need a win at QPR, and may want to win in style, but goal difference won't be a motivation.

As of now we only have a 'game in hand' on Villa and Wigan, both of whom have 3 pts advantage plus goal difference advantage over Bolton (Thanks, Toon). QPR are playing against FA Cup finalists 6 days before the final (so easy for Chelsea to under-perform). Blackburn need to win AT Spurs today or they are on the brink. This is the first time this season that the outcome is no longer "in our own hands" , despite yesterday's post-match comments.
