I am 51. We will not see the promised land in the years i have left. That is my prediction. i am grateful that i saw the resurgence of the north west clubs at the expense of the media darlings who had not done owt before the 1960's such as Coventry, Norwich, Soton, QPR, Ipswich, Watford, Luton, Bristol City etc. But these are the clubs the media want in the top flight.

News from other games surely trickles through, and how would it have affected our players in the final few minutes knowing that City were heading into injury time not needing one goal but two.. some will almost certainly have had their heads down, and who would blame them, no one in their right mind would have expected them to win it at that stage.

 

If City were ahead, maybe, just maybe, our players would have had just that little bit more oomph in the final couple of minutes to batter Stoke (in the same way City battered QPR as it turned out).

After the Fulham shambles just before Xmas we had won 3 drawn 0 lost 13

By that stage we ought to have at least picked some draws from the likes of Sunderland, Everton and Villa at home and had the spine to chip out a draw or two away.

Had we done so, we'd have stayed up.

Look in the goals conceded column. The defence needs addressing this summer, not just the personnel but the whole coaching approach and strategy.

Badly timed really knowing for a while this could be a possibility..
