May 23, 201214 yr It seems that not only are we getting a statue but a garden as well. http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/NatLofthouseMemorialFund/0,,1004~2786725,00.html
May 23, 201214 yr The statue of Nat should go straight outside the main entrance of the Reebok where those memorial bricks are in the ground.
May 23, 201214 yr Looks good, gives a proper setting rather than just being plonked on the concourse round the stadium. Top marks from me.
May 23, 201214 yr Is it next to the away car park? Yepp, not sure if the garden bit would last too long there. There are some people out there who'd sink low enough to wreck it :-/ Edit : full marks to the club though Edited May 23, 201214 yr by matty2094
May 23, 201214 yr Aye, I thought the same. People like Les Ferdinand, for example. Edited May 23, 201214 yr by Traf
May 24, 201214 yr http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/General/0,,1004~2778563,00.html the sculptor of the statue has also been commissioned I notice he did Ted Bates at Southampton and thought I remembered controversy around it He sorted out the fuckup though http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/7309651.stm
May 24, 201214 yr what are the 3 images they narrowed it down too? http://www.thebolton...or_Nat_statue/? 'Wanderers fans have chosen three iconic images for the statue of Nat: One shows him holding the FA Cup, after he led Bolton to a famous 2-0 victory against Manchester United in 1958; Another shows the Lion of Vienna scoring for England against Belgium in 1952; The third pictures the former Whites captain holding the ball, leading his beloved home town club out of the tunnel at Burnden Park.' Cheers, i dunno how easy it wll be to do the fa cup one, i have no doubt it will be great no matter what.
May 24, 201214 yr Like what the club are doing so far with the statue & garden. "The garden will be paved with bricks bearing the names of loved ones and will be the second phase of the club?s walkway of fame". Good idea too. "More than ?20,000 has so far been raised for the statue" : ?1 per regular home fan at the Reebok last season after, what, 3 months or so ? Surely we can do better than that.

Or a weeks wage for of our unused bench warming stars?
May 24, 201214 yr Or a weeks wage for of our unused bench warming stars? who have no connection at all with nat - we the fans do
May 24, 201214 yr Come on lads and lasses if you can get your hands in your pockets for a true gent and our only REAL worldwide club legend.
May 25, 201214 yr who have no connection at all with nat - we the fans do Whilst I agree it's not up to the players to stump up the cash, I think I would struggle to defend the club for not putting a decent whack in. Not sure of the exact funding mechanisms, but I think the club as a minimum should offer a pound to pound match of what the fans raise.
May 25, 201214 yr One of Rioch's greatest signings, I will be chipping in. (This is a joke before we have a summer 10 pager.)
May 26, 201214 yr if we go up next year, pound per point from me Won't it be bought and paid for by then? Get your hand in your pocket for the great man now.
