Luke Mccormick

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere recently, but I couldn't find it.

Just been reading that Swindon (current family club of the year) are about to sign Luke McCormick following his release from prison. He's the guy that killed 2 kids while speeding & being over the drink-drive limit & put their dad in a wheelchair.

Personally I'd be gutted if Bolton signed him. People do make mistakes & I dare say that he relives that moment every day & will carry it round his neck for ther rest of his life. Some people might also say he's served his time (7yrs 4m) & has to earn a living & football is what he knows.

I'll tell you what though, if he'd killed my kids I'd at least expect the f*cker to keep his profile down & have some respect for the family he's left behind even if he has to accept earning a "normal" person's wage. I'd also be paying someone to have him put in a wheelchair.

Cue Gordon Taylor waffling on about the support he needs after serving his time.

  • It's not out of the ordinary to be released on licence half way through a sentence if you've behaved though, is it not?

I once read of a case in America (only them right), that a lad killed a family, drunk drivng, and after he served his time, he was ordered to carry a photo of the dead family in his wallet at all times.

Now Im not sure how you could enforce that, and im not sure if that is even the right thing to do, as that also smacks as 'making punishments up as he goes'.

we can discuss all sorts of cases and incedents all night, and we will all argue for many years to come, and at times, it just comes down to the fact that, life is a shitter at times.

I'd like to think that I would

And I think, so would I. But its still not the right thing to do.

If we all did that, the world would be very quickly fucked.

Is it not fucked already?

Is it not fucked already?

More fucked then. It's not lawless though, not yet.

Is it not fucked already?

Yeah, proper fooked....Look outside your house, can you not see the looting, murdering in the street, kids screamiing, houses on fire, dead bodies ???

No ??? must be just when I visit my scouse family then !!!

also haven't we had a full back this season who killed someone last summer?

Of the reasons why alonso in our back four makes me uncomfortable, that isn't one of them

If someone messed with my nieces or my wife, they'd be doomed

you make me smile :)

Cunt of the highest order.

Cunt of the highest order.

Agreed, and yet people queue up to "support" him.

What McCormick did was truly horrific but it was an accudent. Yes it was a preventable accident and totally his fault for being over the limit but it was an accident. In no way am I condoning his actions but he has served his time (some of it) and now has the chance to resume his career which I think is a good thing in stead of sponging of society. Now if he was to come to Bolton would I be happy? Probably not, but if he was a world class keeper would people change their thoughts?

Thats got to be bollocks, as Ive said earlier, I couldnt ever do my job again with a record...but I could work at mcdonalds or sweep streets, dig ditches etc if I was lucky.

You piss on your own chips then tuff shit , go do a proper job & make the country a better place

absolute bollocks. plenty of people who have been banned for drink driving carry on with their jobs. you act like these are the only jobs available. i have known plenty of people in my industry to be banned and yet still be allowed to carry on. they are not bannished to the streets.

i once worked with a guy that did time for attacking a mon with an axe.

jsl.

Shit like this gets on my tits.

No-one will be queuing up to support him. They'll be supporting their team. No-one will be saying what he did is now okay. What he did was wrong, he will regret it for the rest of his life, but he paid the penalty that was handed to him and now he's going to try and resume the career he had before ... just as any/all of us would try to do.

I'm sure there's plenty on here without sin who feel happy to cast the first stone

not many kid-killers though to be fair. The blokes a nonce and should treated as such

how many have driven over the limit? Hmm

how many have driven over the limit? Hmm

Not many will have got in the car direct from a session, cunted, and started to drive the length of the country

Plenty of folk have done similar and got away with it. Are you saying they too are nonces then, or is what they did okay because they got lucky?

I think my definition of nonce differs. Didn't he have a few hours kip?

Clearly I'm not sticking up for the lad but fuck me, now he's a sex offender too.

I thought the accident was the morning after the night before?

Enough of the facts. Him and Ian Huntley are clearly cut from the safe cloth.

Well he left the pissup at 2, and the crash happened at 5.45 an hour's drive down the M6, so you'd be pushing it to define that as the morning after, which is probably why people rang asking him to stop.
