Supermarket chicken is entirely different to stuff straight from the farm.

We keep chickens in our back yard........................

(actually we really do)

Very true, we often (sadly not always) get our chicken from the local butchers, we can certainly tell the difference between the bland watery stuff from Sainsburys and that from the butchers.

On a similar subject, soemthing I don't get is folk who buy meat that is already frozen, such as frozen mince and frozen leg of lamb etc. Surely you would buy themfresh and then freeze them yoursleves (at least that way you can see what state the meat is in prior to it going into deep freeze

My butcher sells frozen chicken mince. The reason he does this is because chicken is much easier to mince when it's frozen he tells me.

It's excellent for making kebab and kofta type stuff. You do have to ask for it though.

I have to say though, the chicken he uses is good stuff to start with as with other meats, most of which are from their own farm.

Don't they quick freeze it, which in turn prolongs the erm...freezer life of it? Isn't all New Zealand lamb* frozen? Even that sold in 'real' butchers?

* And I presume Australian steak too.

it may well be, I just always think it looks a bit grim a solid lump of frozen meat...but I suppose some of the stuff sold as "fresh" may well have been frozen at one point (such as NZ Lamb or Argentinian Beef)

I have found sainsburys to be ok, tesco and asda on the other hand is terrible, more water than meat.

Roadkill Franny, it's the future, always best to get it whilst it's still twitching though and the meat is still fresh. I find the best way to see if it's still fresh is to stick your penis into the critters arse a few times, to see if it's still moist

is Wayne's World selling Halal Or Kosher meats ?.........................he'll make a killing in our town

I take your point on Halal, though I'm not sure he'll make much on Kosher, there's not many of them Jews knocking about in the BL postal codes.

The spelling and grammar police would have a field day reading his website homepage.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the jingle.

Wayne is a bad name on it's own so is there even any need for a comedic addition.

I'm not sure I could have a go on a bloke with a shit name.
