birch-chorley Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 well said Gonzo for me after BSA sammy lee had the continuity ticket and was a good enough choice for me Megson was a bizzare one that I never understood even though there was limited options I like most was overjoyed when he went and got OC, I didnt see him coming to us and thought Gartside done well for me he has done a decent job sack the board Quote
no balls Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) That's my feelings on the matter. I thought Allardyce was having some time out. I believe you should either tell the truth in the first place or be quiet. I'm naive like that. Edited September 2, 2012 by no balls Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 The wage bill went up under Megson, he didn't reduce it and that wasn't his task.He was given the finances that Allardyce wasn't.That was Gartside's biggest cock up. The money that should have gone to Allardyce went to a bloke whose only experience in the Premier League was getting sacked by West Brom after a few months after falling out with the owner. I agree with the first para Allardyce was going to take us in the same direction as Leeds went if the money had gone to him; bringing in Megson and sponging the money was the biggest mistake like you say. Gartside is a fan IMO and does care for the club and not just for the money. He needs to act quickly though because as much as I like Owen Coyle as a person, and would love it to have worked with him, its not going to happen and Bolton Wanderers are going in one direction. Our previous number 1 and 2 goalies are playing in the prem and we have ended up with an inexperienced kid and a poor back up. The back four are terrible; we have a midfield with no bottle and options up front are non existant Quote
HomerJay Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) Sam had to work within his budget, Garty and ed didn't want to extend that budget Sam walked Little Sam tried to continue on saner budget, didn't work Sammy sacked Megson got a new budget for whatever reason, assembled a new squad, couldn't manage them Megson sacked. Coyle had the squad and just had to get them playing whilst replace old with new and with little medium budget. He made it worse. Next season the sky money is 70% higher We have to be promoted, otherwise the prem difference in quality could be a distance dream. We may get promoted in the coming seasons, but staying there wil be increasingly difficult. You could arge this season is shit or bust. I want it to work for coyle I really do. I don't think he's a cunt or a wanker, he's just a poor stubborn manager. There are plenty of them. Finding a good manger that fits a club and expecting him to make immediate and sustained impression is not an simple task Edited September 2, 2012 by HomerJay Quote
BigSamsGrandad Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 If, as appears to be the case, PG isn't for sacking OC surely it's about time we made better use of Little Sammy Lee who was coach for part of our most succesful period. He has to be better than the gobshites, goons, waifs and strays that Coyle has surrounded himself with. I think coaching us, Liverpool and England is a better grounding than fucking Aidrieonians, St Johnstone and ex police Quote
birch-chorley Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 fuck that lets just hound them all out? Quote
no balls Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 fuck that lets just hound them all out? What sort of noise do we make when we're hounding? We need to be united, so to speak, on this. Is it a chant, a groan, a boo or a scream? Quote
SalfordOriginal Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Let the fans pick the team and formation via text messages. Extra revenue for the club so win win all round Quote
Rembrandt Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) I pretty much agree, Homer. Though I'd say there was ego and ambition elsewhere with BSA, as well as budget. Megson's big problem was wanting to fight the fans because he wasn't their choice. Coyle has failed pretty comprehensively over the last 18 months. I'm not sure promotion back to the Prem is the answer. Sure, Sky money goes up; but every time that's happened, player salaries shoot through the roof even more. Finding the right manager for the club and the job in hand will be a very tough task, but it has to be tackled. Otherwise we drift into deeper trouble. Edited September 2, 2012 by Rembrandt Quote

Personally - I just want to be proud of my club. Whatever division we find ourselves in. I'd prefer that we put our energy into developing young talent, preferably British, and schooled them not only in how to play, but educated them as individals too. That's the best way in my opinion. Might not be the quickest or he easiest. Quote

no balls Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I was thinking tawny owl? We've got one of those down here trying to find a bird. I wish for pity's sake he'd pull! I'll see if he wants to come ot the Watford game if he's still not copped off. Quote

stevieb Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 If we want the manager out we should all take white hankies and wave them at the next home game like they do in Spain. We might get some of the Barca fan boys on side that way. Quote

kent_white Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Owwwww ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh! Like that? In my head, it was more of a three pronged Owww, owww, owwwwwwwwwwooooooh! One owww for Coyle, one for all the backroom staff, and one for everybody else, who should also be sacked. In fact, Gartside should do the honorable thing and sack everybody associated with the club, until he is the only remaining member of staff and then he should resign. Quote
Sweep Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 NB, best getvdusting those pitchforks off, you're going the make a killing at the next home natch.... Quote
