What a waste of time that paper is anyhow, it's circulation has plummeted due to Journalism of Marc Iles style, it really is that bad. I can't wait to see the headlines TOMORROW TEATIME when I get home from work that Owen Coyle has been sacked, only 31hrs after I found out

He's a shite journo, some Korean journos had a better insight than him into what's going on at the club. The BN is crap too

I thought his report on the Millwall game was one of the best pieces of sports journalism I've read in a long time.

 

It proved to me at least that the guy can write, and that he has got half a brain.

 

Unfortunately his need to keep on the right side of BWFC, and their manager, meant that he didn't start to criticize Coyle until the writing was on the wall in ten foot letters. We should expect a bit more independance from our local rag.

Like most local papers, it is doing badly, with a daily circulation well under 20,000. I can't work out how it keeps going with the number of staff they have. I can only think the website pays, which is why they're always pushing their web content these days.

 

As for quality of writing, I suspect they have all done the journalism course, but anyone settled at a local paper has no ambition at all, which means they have no reason to rock any boats, BWFC or otherwise. Also, they get a lot of ad revenue from the club, so can't fall out. Suspect that's also the reason why they are rarely critical of the council too.

To my credit, I had no idea who or what OGS was.
