I'm not criticizing is work rate or effort just his ability. countless times against brum he slowed us down in the final third by not overlapping the winger or running into space to receive the ball.

Cole and sagna are consistent for they're clubs that's why they have played regularly over the years. mears is certainly consistent for us, consistently shit.
December 30, 201213 yr He might have been told to stay back more especially once we are winning. However when he does go forward he seems to lack the confidence to cross, preferring instead to find a short pass which will not lose possession. Fans booing / shouting abuse at him makes him even less likely to. He can put in some good crosses and with 2 holding players to help the defence he should be encouraged to attack more. I don't think he is good enough but when he is on the pitch we need to get behind every player, save the criticisms for on here.

Never ever seen him play well I've given up trying to pick the best of a bad bunch to be honest. I give Alonso a chance because he is still pretty young and by accounts trains hard and can learn. I think Ricketts is probably the best of them but i think he has been way out of form all season, probably not helped by not playing the same position in consecutive games!
