no, I've not had to...perhpas it's a mental thing but she seems quite calm and doesn't seem bothered about having a ciggie, but dos keep asking when the e-cigs will be arriving (which I'm guessing will be tomorrow) - it's like she doesn't mind not having a fag, as long as she knows a viable substitute is going to be arriving in a day or two...very odd

Its got to be done at some point, but my mates are cunts and most of them smoke so they won't be the supportive bunch.

 

If i go another week i'll be more confident!

I'm stopping in this weekend too to avoid temptation. I know I've got to face my mates down the pub sooner or later but I reckon I'll stand a better chance next weekend when the cravings should've died down a little.

If she's working in the pub, she should be fine.

She can't smoke indoors, so as long as she stays behind the bar, she'll be reet.

The booze is the hardest bit

 

Get 2 or 3 big nights out without smoking under the belt and your there!! Problem is going on the big nights out too soon before you have built up a decent period of time off the cigs

As suggested, staying away from the pub for a week or two will help.

 

I'd also suggest not getting too wankered on the 1st couple of visits to the pub and under no circumstances go and stand with them while they have a cig, certainly for the 1st few months anyway.

 

If your mates want to mock you/be unsupportive then return in kind - call them all dirty smelly smoky bastards!

 

I gave up this time last year after loads of unsuccessful attempts and think I've finally cracked it

i actually found going to the pub helped, at least you were satisfying one craving as it were, with the ban there isn't the same temptation there used to be, depends on if your mates all smoke i suppose and whether you would be prone to letting your guard down after a few.

 

substituting tobacco for alcohol probably isnt the best medical advice, but i found it easier being in the pub having a pint without a fag, than sitting at home wishing i could have a pint and a fag.

The smokin ban helped me - went from smokin 3 a pint (that was only 9 a night cos I'm a lightweight) to giving up cos I couldn't be arsed to stand outside and get wet or cold or more often than not both!!

If so, you have my sympathy, as I would be all kinds of fucked up trying to do that.

I used to smook at my desk. I had a massive glass ash tray, one of them you could murder someone to death with. I bet you cant even buy them now.

 

These smookers, I see them outside offices & pubs when it's pissing it down and I just think, nobs, they'll catch their death.

 

And don't even get me on my friends who expect me to go outside with them when they're having a smook too. Aye alreet.
