Lazy as fuck journalism, pisses me off too. Nowadays when you switch on the news - quotes from witnesses to stories/events come from twitter and videos are found off youtube, they dont even have to leave the studio!

as a random aside

there's this trailer for a new Mark Wahlberg that contains tweets from random people

they're made to look like quotes about the film, but they're not, they're just random tweets where they've looked for people talking about Mark Wahlberg - none of them will have even seen the film

I would dearly love to see a follow up story at the sun online with that...

how do we get the ball rolling on this?

though now it's on here, it'll be in the BN within 24 hours

Pablo, put your rod away :blum:

Why doesn't some snitch who finds here 'vile' already grass to Garty via Twitter?

He'll probably re-tweet it without a second thought.

And, as if by magic, who's made a return today...

Forgive my ignorance - what is wne?

"96 was not enough"

Referring to Man United as 'Munich/DMB'

Saying you've gone round Manchester singing 'Munich' songs.

Having a Munich tattoo.

You're taking the piss out of a football tragedy, but because you're a football fan and they're rivals, you use it has an excuse for your behavior.

It's sick and just because some idiots give it back, doesn't make it right.

^^^ Probably one who says it also.

He might be a mentalist, but he does have a point.

I'm not a fan of the M word myself. However, each different use of the word has context. Some people band it round, but probably wouldn't do so in the centre of Manc on a night out... It's a bit poor IMO.

However, no one has had a Munich tattoo, or defended it. The thread is subtitled Scouse Clown. And that's the thing Fiddles hasn't grasped. He's tarring everyone with the same brush, and that's why he's a self-righteous prick. He probably prefers the "going down on your sister" song.

I can already see him hitting the "report" button.....

I've never done that. Some of the over the top comments you make though have made me think about it.

I said they should have a look on here, does that read to you that I meant everyone bar myself? because it doesn't.

Oh and if I'm 'self-righteous' for knowing right from wrong, then so be it. I'll not be joining in with the #vile's :p

And you are the one deciding what's right and wrong?

And you are the one deciding what's right and wrong?

So taking the piss out of a tragedy, about innocent people dying is anything but wrong?

It's irrelevant on here, no one cares, no one is getting hurt.

Tell that to Duncan Edwards et al....

He won't hear you though because he's dead.

Duncan Edwards has no relevance on this topic. Munich isn't used because we celebrate the crash, it's used because we know it would wind up any ManU fan. If it was all about moral high ground, I find it rather ironic that as they sulk at being called Munichs, they scoff at Liverpool for losing 96 of their own, crashing walls on Italians, cracking folk over the head with paving slabs, the list goes on.

They can't have it both ways. A rival's tragedy either can or can't be used to take the piss. They do it so can't raise issues against those who also do it.

.. and what has any of that got to do with us as Bolton fans?

Munich songs are song by us for one reason and one reason only - to piss them off. Don't try justifying it though because they sing nasty songs about other teams too, as that's got fuck all to do with it.
